The man’s dark green armor is scarred by wind and grit, faintly glowing where a small vial of pink ether feeds power into its seams. In his hand, a staff hums softly, the same ether suspended at its core, keeping his suit alive as they scout for the ancient resource beneath the cracked earth. Inspired by Warhammer 40k - The Death Korps of Krieg. -- Dug deep into the churned earth, a regiment of the Death Korps of Krieg works with mechanical precision as shells scream overhead. The Commissar stands rigid behind the line, cape snapping in the shockwaves, pistol idle but present, a reminder that duty is absolute. Nearby, a grenadier feeds rounds into the pneumatic mortar with practiced efficiency, each thump sending death arcing toward unseen enemies. An enlisted soldier spots the enemy through binoculars and calls adjustments through his mask, voice flat and emotionless. The merchant drifts through crowded alleys of the city gripping his staff, a command relay for his workbot. Half human, half machine, his augmented eyes scan buyers while scarred cybernetics hum beneath a weathered coat. Behind him lumbers his servant robot, hunched beneath an impossible stack of crates, barrels and packs, its thin frame bowed and joints creaking with every step. The robot says nothing, its purpose is labor, but the merchant pauses often, exhaling smoke as he displays strange wares pulled from the ruins of old tech and forgotten markets, a quiet transaction unfolding amid rain, cables, and flickering signs. ——————— Collab with the creative and innovative @ronin.bricks ! I wanted to rebuild it into a four-legged robot racer while using as many original parts as possible, especially all those printed pieces — and there are a lot of them. The battlefield was ancient, and so was the enemy. Man had fought here centuries ago, and now they were back, searching for answers beneath the bones of a dead war. The Outer World Coalition had abandoned the planet long ago, leaving its trenches, fortresses, and mass graves to the dust after losses became too severe and the campaign was declared unwinnable. But new scans revealed active energy signatures under the old kill zones, deep beneath the shattered fortifications where no system should still be running. Something down there had endured: a sealed archive, a forgotten weapons core, or a mind left sleeping since the last human retreat. The Blackthorn Paratroopers were the least expensive drones the Coalition could find, obsolete by front-line standards but reliable enough for covert descent and reconnaissance. Built to slip into hostile territory unseen, they were fast, lean, and almost silent in motion. They were never meant to fight a war alone. But on this planet, among the ruins of an ancient defeat, they had been sent back first.

By the time the smoke cleared, the ore was exposed, the casings were ankle-deep, and the blasted stone was painted in blue-green blood.”

Troop E-54 moved through the alien treeline in disciplined silence, their patrol led by a captain encased in a scarred exosuit and carrying an assault rifle at the low ready. Two ranger ground troops flanked him with practiced spacing, scanning the undergrowth and canopy for movement as they advanced between roots, ferns, and broken stone.
