Midas - SYNAPSE WRITERS || Cyberpunk Graffiti Artists

Originally a talented calligraphy painter, this mysterious artist joined the Synapse Writers to fulfill a sense of rebellion against the Corpos and spread art in a most unconventional way. And Midas found the perfect crew for the job.
•
Whisping away at his extended brush, and spraying from cans onto canvases of concrete and glass, graffiti has never been faster with cybernetic modifications to jump around the city, making Midas and his crew practically uncatchable.
•
Many say there’s an effect made from these artists’ paint, whether it be physical or emotional, almost as if it is coded or enchanted with something to draw attention - or to distract when needing to make a quick run for it!

Rather than letting automation or machines color the city, this crew aims at making sure that hand-made human art is present among the city, whether the Corpos like it or not. And it’s a way to leave fun and creative tags for citizens to witness.

DYSTO - SYNAPSE WRITERS // Cyperpunk Graffiti Writer
Parts of the modern metropolis are still covered in graffiti pieces and tags. Whether it’s roll-ups rope-accessed from skyscraper rooftops or wholecars on hover trains. Besides all the crews and writers, the SW Crew’s fluid, colorful tags really stand out.
But who are these ghost-like writers who still manage to survive and even paint in this highly surveilled city?
Meet Dysto. Not even the members know his actual name. Always equipped with paint roller and cans in his favorite colors. He swings the katanas whenever things get tense.
The crew’s name stems from the fact that, unlike corporate entities and artists praised by the masses, they still use their own synapses to create art instead of letting the machines do that as well.

A manipulator of the metaphysical, Tarachni scribes a web of knowledge about the Spiritual Realm - where he finds new ways to infiltrate the physical plane with the supernatural, such as summoning demons or adopting nonmaterial techniques - Much like how he attains mutations like his Meta-limbs 🕷️

Shabu || Sumo
•
Wide stance and practically immovable, “Big Shabu” commands the guarding of the fortresses and garden of the Death Walker Legion.
•
Once a revered sumo wrestler, he became consumed by his fame and victory, obsessed with living and crushing forever. While costing his reputation among society, Shabu sought the Legion, where utilizing Necrotech, uploaded his consciousness to the skull-crushing shell of metal.
•
While not the fastest member of the legion, Shabu’s hammer certainly packs a punch, sending shockwaves and cracking the ground upon impact, and he doesn’t pull back on swings.

Second time featuring Ryo on my page, making him the second reoccurring character on my board, first one being Mei (2022).

I often get questions about the lore of this universe, and if there even is lore: Yes, there certainly is!
A world where Mystical Magic meets Fine-lined Sci-Fi, where pockets of populations have their unique origins, abilities, and motives.

As for Ryo, once fallen into the hands of an infamous death syndicate, now a leading member of the “Dark Blade Vigilante,” driven to rescue cities from evil and root out his own inner-demons.
•
While under a predominantly Japanese or sometimes generally Asian aesthetic, we see genres crossing over from fantasy to sci-fi, but all taking on one overarching theme: The Question of Humanity, it’s Boundaries, and meaning to the Individual as opposed to the Collective.
•
I also like to think of everything being connected in some way, with differing genres sometimes marking potential eras of time or certain geographical regions.
•
When it comes to main characters of this world, however, the pedestals are always moving.
