✨ ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: J SOLOMON ✨ We're excited to share @jsolomon J Solomon's "Lying Around," made possible with support from a Recording Fund grant! J Solomon's journey embodies why we do what we do. Following the early success of his debut EP, he began crafting his sophomore release, "KILL THE ROCKSTAR." Like most artists, he struggled with funding his music career while managing everyday expenses. Our grant allowed him to explore the production and recording process more deeply while offsetting the financial challenges of producing the rest of his EP. We're honored to help artists and musicians create music despite today's challenging industry landscape. Offsetting recording costs doesn't just enable more music—it creates the conditions for beautiful, authentic music to flourish. We're thrilled to share "Anything for You," the stunning new release from @irenediaz , created with support from a Recording Fund grant! Irene's journey is exactly why we do what we do. After her critically acclaimed EP "I Love You Madly" caught NPR's attention in 2013, her musical path took a detour that moved away from her authentic sound. With the help of a Recording Fund grant, she returned to her soulful, organic roots and collaborated with musicians and friends who brought their own unique and valuable flavor to a live recording produced by Irene and tracked in a great studio. Our mission goes beyond financial support. We aim to create the conditions for beautiful, unencumbered music to be made. Irene's project embodies this perfectly—it's about reconnection, artistic integrity, and the magic that happens when an artist has the freedom to create authentically. Something magical is coming! With the help of a grant from @recordingfund to finalize their upcoming debut album, my daughter @theofficialcaitynorth and her band @saintofsoldiers will release “Eternal Adolescence” on 6/1! I had a such a fun time collaborating last weekend with @gathered.for.good & @gcharvest to bring the set for their album’s cover photos to life! Seeing everything come together was like entering a scene out of Alice in Wonderland! The sky-scape was designed by yours truly using thrifted linens, dreamy paper mache hot air balloons and other bits and bobs. Caity labored for over 96 hours (!!!) making all of the whimsical balloons which I then outfitted with handmade baskets and rope ladders. To say I’m proud would be an understatement. As a mother I know how easy it is to let our dreams take the backseat. They’ve already tracked a full album. Now we’re helping them finish it—supporting mixing + mastering with a Recording Fund grant. AND! Music from their album featured in an upcoming Montana PBS documentary. Saint of Soldiers represents exactly the kind of artist this program is designed to support—independent musicians who have built momentum through resilience, self-determination, and deep commitment to their craft, and are ready to take the next step with professional recording support.
