Ngitibuyisela Kimi is a visceral movement and physical theatre production that dramatises the experience of high-functioning depression and anxiety. Two performers, chained together, embody the Self and Depression. Through storytelling, poetry, and a soundscape of locally composed music, the piece embodies a translation of internal struggle. It is an invitation to audiences to witness, name, and reclaim the parts of themselves that have been silenced. Come catch the shower the Vrystaat Kunstefees 7 and 8 July 2026

Never would I have imagined that I'd finally pass this milestone. Wednesday was life changing for me. 9(almost 10) years ago I had to drop out of University due to financial constraints, I started working and let myself believe that maybe that piece of paper wasn't meant for me. It wasn't until my dad (see second picture) let me know that he didn't want me to give up on that dream that I finally applied to go through this University thing again. I have been so incredibly blessed; with a father who is the biggest pillar in my life, he has supported me, accepted me, loved me and made me fight harder for my place in the world, with a mother(3rd picture) who instilled in me the importance of education, with the best siblings (@mkayitu (who made sure I looked amazing in my graduation fit) @thxto.twxlx @ntswakimokone , Katleho Twala and Kamohelo Twala) in the world who ride for me even when I sometimes forget to ride for myself, who see me for my neurodivergent annoying self and still choose me everyday. And to my chosen family and my gorgeous friends, who have made this journey a thousand times easier. Thank you for choosing me, for supporting me and for always ALWAYS believing in me. @corneli.vdberg @phu_tee5 @hushmoloy @onkul_swiss @maduna_method (4th pic) Dr Kgwasi, thank you for instilling in me the love I have for Physical Theatre. I have officially found my calling thanks to your teachings @ufstheatre be prepared to be completely sick of me over the next three years. And last but definitely not least @t4tonykgoroge @sthakgoroge thank you for silently being the blueprints that proved that my dream of being a creative wasn't for nothing. Thank you for the advice, lessons and the answers to my weird questions.
