SINE WAVES ON SUNDAY

Triangular Wave: in the context of âSine Waves On Sundayâ, a sequence of 3 pieces of electronic music, representing a specific artist/topic, or chosen by a special guest.
First to take part in this new occasional feature is Roberta Fidora, who accurately describes herself as âthe most interesting Isle of Wight musician youâve never heard ofâ. Having previously recorded under the name Curxes, more recently she has set to work on a forthcoming 8-track EP under her own name, in order to further explore her interest in strange art-pop that falls âsomewhere between Bet Lynch and David Lynchâ. She directs and animates all of her own music videos, even curating the âAnimation Arrayâ show for The Indie Beat Television, and is a staunch champion of federated social media and the independent music system. The works of Mort Garson, Sparks and Björk are particularly special to Roberta, as she explains in this weekâs edition of âSine Wavesâ.
Also on the programme, we preview this monthâs Ambient Afternoon at the Museum of East Dorset, via the work of Andrew Heath and James Osland. There will also be an introduction to the Southsea-based experimental techno band LIPWORMS, an instant tea jingle by Daphne Oram, odes to the skies of Rome and Jutland by Ogle & Mugwood, and a nostalgic track 35 years in the making from Nylon FuturesâŠ
