Woke up in @billboard this morning — not a bad way to start a Friday. As a creative person, recognition for the work is always meaningful… but what I’m most grateful for is the work itself. To have the life, the health, and the opportunity to keep chasing the muse and making music is the real gift. Getting to write for @thegrayhouseseries with @jimmoosebrown and @realjefffahey is something I will carry with me forever. We were handed a powerful, deeply human story and given the rare assignment of capturing specific emotional moments in song — and then surrounded by the most incredible collaborators, brought those songs to life in ways beyond anything I could have imagined. (Including sitting in the middle of a symphony with Bruce Broughton). I am so proud of every one of these pieces of music. And hearing them find homes with such extraordinary artists — including my hero @willienelsonofficial — well… I know I’m spoiled.
