We’re partnering with @gravitymedia_nl , who manage the studio facility. @readyset_studios continues to run all virtual production operations. Proud to share our new film we produced for @klm Together with the lovely people from @dentsucreativeams (@majke @vincentversluis @jasperjanssen Maaike Stellink ♥️) director @teddycherim put a tremendous amount of work into this project. KLM came to us with a challenge: Create a film that feels like we’re traveling the world, without actually leaving the Netherlands. We took on the challenge and brought it to life through a virtual production. It was a great pioneering together with @readyset_studios & @planetx_vfx , pushing the boundaries of virtual production. Couple of months ago already, I did Production Design for a fantasy short film together with Eva de Winter @eva.de.winter . For ‘Where Wildflowers Dare Not Pray’, we built a large, magical garden at the Ready Set studio @readyset_studios in Amsterdam, extending the physical set through Virtual Production. The main challenge was to make it appear as if there were multiple locations within the same garden. We worked with various interchangeable foreground elements to create depth and the illusion of a much bigger environment than it actually was. Apart from the whole garden, we also created a cottage interior, consisting of a simple L-shaped set, making it easy to assemble and disassemble. While this film will soon be making the rounds at the film festivals, it already got an honorable mention and it also won Best Production Design at the CP Film Festival in Breda. We’re pleased to present the final short clip from our virtual production and VFX breakdowns for iHostage, a @netflixnl film directed by @bobbyboermans and produced by @horizonfilm.nl .⁠ ⁠ In this clip, we highlight how different techniques were combined to seamlessly blend the real and set-built Apple Store, inside and out. How do you film multiple car scenes on a tight schedule, without leaving town?⁠ ⁠ For Dutch soap series Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden (from producer @nlfilm ), the production had just one shoot day to cover a full episode’s worth of scenes, including several car shots tied to a specific location. We’re happy to share short clip 3 from our VFX and virtual production breakdowns for iHostage, a @netflixnl film directed by @bobbyboermans and produced by @horizonfilm.nl .⁠ ⁠ This clip shows how we scanned Amsterdam’s Leidseplein and used it as a real-time environment on a 60x6 metre LED wall, placed outside a full-scale replica of the Apple Store set. The production achieved full creative control over a busy city square, without ever shutting it down.⁠ ⁠ The Apple Store set was designed by @florianlegters , co-founder of @readyset_studios .
