The movie “I Really Love My Husband” has its world premiere at the SXSW festival today, shot with a set of Optimo Prime and Optimo 45-120 by DOP Ryan Thomas. Synopsis: When a woman grows disillusioned with her golden-boy husband during their tropical honeymoon, she recruits an enigmatic expat to spice things up—for better or worse. Ended up using a ton of @aputure.lighting Infini-bars since they actually look good on camera. Another fun segment coming from @nickelodeon for Nick News about Justin’s Frog Project. @pluimer and I shot this back in December 2022 and the style we landed on for it was Terrence Malick meets Nickelodeon. I think the words used were “visually mindblowing” 😅 We did some fun things in this piece, check out slide 2 for our use of the @lensbabyusa for a Frog POV. Attempting to hop like a frog with the MiniLF is not easy by the way. Had to use the @laowa.cine probe lens too for the detail shots of the frogs. They were pretty incredible when you got up close. Used the Mini LF with a set of Canon FD primes which has been my go to recently. Creamy soft bokeh and incredible lens flares, not to mention there’s a 14mm in the set! Had such a fun time on this insane project where me, @pluimer , @jilliannicolesmithh , and the whole team take Nick News to a place where Linda Ellerbee never thought possible. Some fun work on slide 2 and 3 with the @cartoni.camerasupports Dutch axis head, which lets you spin the camera around its center point. A lot of people came together to make this happen. So stoked we get to work on fun projects like this. Also can’t get over the fact we had an Ireland 2nd Unit on this project. 😅 Directed by: @pluimer DP: me! Prod. Have a new short that just came out through @nobudge !! So great that I could DP this film with my newfound pandemic group chat friend @meese.jpg Was the first time I’ve been to the Midwest and was immediately greeted by an insane lightning storm that we managed to get a once in a lifetime shot of on slide 2. Besides all the poison ivy, the spiders, and the storms, it was such a fun shoot. Shot on the Alexa Mini with @atlaslensco Orion anamorphics. So many good friends came together to make this happen. First AC @stammerheadshark , Editing by @meese.jpg and @arielgramner , with @thia.schuess and @gabriellaricketts , @elliepritts and @bearsrambling with color and VFX, titles by @clobrett and sound by @jerobinson

Have been really excited to share stills from this latest music video with @yard__sard for @kid_sistr . I knew it was going to be so fun from the beginning and the final project really delivered. The last slide shows a few of the 6 @litegear spectrum 2Ls that we rigged overhead for our cyan fill light. We had 3 @aputure.lighting 600x’s at 2900k for a super warm key outside the windows. With a few more litemats on the floor we were able to shoot the 26 shots we had and somehow include our prelight and rig in one day. Included some references we were trying to emulate in the second to last slide, loved the moody classroom they had in euphoria and tried to make it our own. Thankful for @rarebreedswest and @cfgrentalgroup giving us the deals we needed to make this project happen. Absolutely wouldn’t have happened otherwise!! I feel like this project really brought together some great new and old friends. With @yard__sard directing and @mrs.marc coming out of retirement to gaff. @liz_maupin producing the heck outta this thing. Chris Moscoso kept me and Marc honest and @random_protoplasm truly saving the day as swing. @tessa_kier as my #1 camera friend and 1st AC. @lannadelraujo with so many good set Dec Easter eggs throughout the set. @jchaffin27 held it down as our special fx foreman. Special guest appearance by my neighbor @alunondrums as our AD.@edwardsdan truly knocked it out of the park with color. Grateful for the team and the friends! Can’t wait to make more. :)

We had so much fun with this shot. The whole film is handheld, but we always knew we wanted an overhead shot with a slow boom down. To keep the handheld feel we built a small goal post overhead and used rope and pulleys to do our slow move (With a couple safety chains of course, swipe for BTS) It really worked seamlessly.
