Stephen Lawrence Day is marked, annually, on 22 April to honour Stephen Lawrence’s life and raise awareness of racial injustice and systemic discrimination. Across our libraries, we showcased powerful reads about Stephen Lawrence’s life and other inspiring memoirs. This included hosting The Forgotten Pioneer: Britain’s First Black Newspaper Editor at North Kensington Library – a powerful talk uncovering a hidden figure in Black British history. Attendees explored the life and legacy of Samuel Jules Celestine-Edwards - a radical activist, writer, and Britain’s first Black editor of two national newspapers. 📰🌍 #StephenLawrenceDay #Libraries #Community

What if wellbeing isn’t something to achieve, but something to practice? @ivkovickristina is a yoga teacher working with yoga, meditation, and simple daily practices for wellbeing. Her work explores how small practices shape who you become, especially in moments when life feels messy or uncertain. She believes wellbeing is not something you achieve, but something you practice again and again in everyday life. One Minute Practice. Small things, every day. Practice makes progress. Her talk at the Women’s Wellbeing Summit 2026 says it all: “One Minute Practice: The Compounding Power of Simple Daily Practice” 16 May - London @rbkclibraries Register now, link in bio. #WomensWellbeingSummit #OneminutePractice #SmallThingsEveryday #YogaTeacher MindfulLiving
