Since 2013, our partnership with Nagorik Uddyog has helped provide the children of garment workers with education, care, nutritious meals, and regular health check ups, laying the foundation for brighter futures.

Traid x Barbican Centre: Yarn Stories Workshop
This Saturday, join us and the Islington Fixers for a special pre-screen repair workshop at the iconic Barbican Centre, celebrating the craft, creativity, and storytelling of yarn.
Taking place as part of Yarn Stories, a screening of short documentaries exploring dyeing, weaving, quilting, lacemaking and embroidery, this is a chance to reimagine your clothes and give them a second life through repair.
Bring along one or two items from your wardrobe and learn how to mend and repair them with support from our expert visible menders.

Every year, 1 billion garments in the UK end up in landfill. That’s 30% of the UK’s unwanted clothes.
We can change this.
If all UK adults bought half of their next wardrobe second-hand instead of new, it could prevent an estimated whopping 12.5 billion kilogrammes of carbon dioxide emissions entering the atmosphere. This is the equivalent to a plane flying around the world more than 17,000 times!

Fantastic news to see our transformative organic cotton project in Benin has been officially greenlit by the Global Environment Facility.
Building on decades of work by PAN UK and OBEPAB, the project will support 50,000+ farmers, scale sustainable cotton production, restore degraded land and help avoid over 2,000 tonnes of hazardous pesticides. We’re proud that Traid has supported this work since 2009 alongside our amazing donors and shoppers, helping prove that long-term collaboration can create real systems change.
