I had been feeling that I was in the right place at the right time, with me and the energies of the world locked in a dance - up until a few weeks ago, and then I came back to Goa.
Human acts meets me in this moment where all my emotions are stacked up and compressed against each other, waiting - for combustion, or disappearance or whatever else emotions do when they’re all together like a mob.
Returning to the soft but devastating worlds that Han Kang creates (my first entrance into these was The Vegetarian) fills my body with air, and allows the extrication of these compressed emotions through a truthful view of the human condition. Truthful, because it hides no scars - it presents terror and cruelty on the same fractured plate as poetry and beauty.
In the cruel times of the present, reading about the cruel times of the past has centered me somehow, I am now encased in this book’s tender rendition.
I won’t say more about her though I am such a devotee to her craft - I don’t like setting expectations of a book in another which is why my usual method is screaming “YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK” from the rooftops.
Some time ago a friend suggested joining a book club but could I exchange this precious and sacred solitude for the promise of fellowship? Would it still be sacred?
Fiction is like touching the divine, reality cannot compare with it - I have never found a way to exist within it convincingly - and I am grateful for Han Kang for giving me a space in which I can be comfortably devastated.
This deserves a more extensive post but for now I’m just happy to remember a time where the brain fog wasn’t so thick

Time Travel Taverna was in the making for nearly 6 months, until it finally came alive a few moons ago.
We collaborated with @othersidewhiskey to honour the essence of Goa’s disappearing tavernas, the places that shaped its drinking culture, its music, its rituals, and the quiet ways people gathered. This experience was built on world-building and storytelling, brought to life through @thestormfactory ’s narrative, @rawpolemic & @gaurav_gokhale13 ’s art direction, and Urbanaut’s vision to turn a sleepy village into a time-travel portal for one evening only.
Thank you to everyone who stepped through the doorway, followed the Tavern Keeper across rooms and timelines, and allowed time to fold in on itself.
Until the next portal opens!

Last year we had the chance to shoot something truly special - @palacioaguada (Palacio Aguada)
What began as Jimmy Gazdar’s dream and Gerard da Cunha’s masterpiece is today the cherished private estate of Pinky & Sanjay Reddy (GVK Group) a home that still carries the soul of its legendary era.
Through photography and film, we set out to capture not just the grandeur of the mansion, but the spirit of its vision blending vintage and modern lenses to give it a timeless, cinematic feel.
This one will always stay close to our hearts.
