Healing As A Daily Practice We are still reflecting on what it means to approach our healing journey daily. To see our healing as sacred and requiring constant attention. Do your daily practices honor your healing or hinder it? Whether you haven’t spent much time with this month’s topic or have been really sitting with it, we hope to see you at The Medicine, where you’ll get a chance to dig in further. Earlier this month, our Executive Director @rasupreme joined partners, cultural leaders, and public officials at the 2025 @somos_inc Conference in Puerto Rico - organized by SOMOS, Inc. in collaboration with @prhtf_nys and Assembly Member @karinesreyes87 . The annual conference brings together organizers, policymakers, artists, and advocates committed to building systems rooted in justice, creativity, and community care.

Throughout the convening, conversations focused on how arts and culture can drive structural change, strengthen collective power, and connect communities across generations and geographies. Brooklyn Arts Council was honored to be a part of these exchanges , alongside @651arts @bricbrooklyn @bcmkids @prospect_park @recessart @ifetayoculture @drivechangenyc , on behalf of Brooklyn Arts and Culture Kollective (BACK), contributing to dialogues on cultural equity, creative economies, and the role of artists in shaping a more just future. Highlights included BACK’s reception and Culture as Power panel, sponsored by @senatormyrie and @amemeritatorres , both of which affirmed the importance of shared cultural leadership.

Deep gratitude to the @somos_inc organizers and to our partners who believe in culture as a central force for transformation and progress 💐 We’re energized to carry these insights forward as we strengthen our support for artists and cultural workers across Brooklyn.
