Bhangra and @diljitdosanjh as my walkout song at the @michigandems Legacy Dinner! For every kid who looks like me and wonders if there’s a seat at the table, there is. We’re building it. Michigan Democrats fired up, and a room full of people ready to win!

Progress isn’t permanent unless we defend it.
Today I stood alongside survivors, students, parents, and advocates to say: enough is enough.
Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in America. That should shake us all.
Let me be clear: you can’t say you care about families while repealing the laws that keep them alive.
We will fight. We will vote. We will keep showing up. And we will win.

Today, we begin to collectively heal from the horrific events which transpired, tomorrow we work.
My official statement regarding the Michigan State University shooting 👆🏽
Let’s be blunt: this is a deliberate move to silence Black voters and strip our communities of their power. The Voting Rights Act was written in blood and sacrifice, and it will not be erased. The fight for the Black vote is the fight for democracy itself.
Remember: state legislatures are often the last line of defense against harmful federal policies—including Supreme Court rulings like the one this past week that further weakened the Voting Rights Act and immediately fueled new pushes for aggressive gerrymandering in Republican-led states.
Now is the time to get informed about your state races, your state party’s leadership, and the policies shaping your community — and to help the people around you get informed too.
If this week’s SCOTUS ruling has you angry, channel that frustration into action. Local and state elections matter. State legislatures shape voting rights, education, housing, reproductive freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, and so much more. If your state legislature is red and you want different outcomes, organizing, volunteering, and voting in state-level races is where change starts.
I’ll be sharing more of my conversation with Michigan's House Minority Leader, Rep Ranjeev Puri @ranjeevpuri . It was a good one. 💙
In partnership with Michigan Creator Collaborative.
In partnership with the Michigan creator’s collaborative I was able to sit down with house minority leader @ranjeevpuri to discuss a vision for a brighterMichigan and what it would mean to have Democratic control in the state and what that would mean for Michiganders

It’s always a great day in Lansing when @everytown and @mi_momsdemandaction action hold their annual advocacy day!
I’m proud of the work we’ve done to pass common sense gun reform, but know the fight for our kids futures is far from over. Every person deserves to live a life free from gun violence, and I remain committed to passing policies that keep our communities safe.
Today we were excited to host MI House Democrats for “Take Your Kid to Work Day” at the Capitol! From scavenger hunt bingo to bubbles, mock interviews, and pizza, it was a morning of fun and learning. It’s such a wonderful experience to share more about the work we do everyday and the importance of public service with our kids & future leaders!
Honored to join leaders from across the country at the Impact Summit for a conversation on what it means to lead in this moment.
At a time when belonging is being questioned, it’s powerful to be in a room with South Asian change makers, from elected officials to youth organizers, who are building something bigger than themselves.
Our communities have always belonged. And we’re continuing to show that through leadership and lifting up the next generation.
