One of the best coffee shops I’ve been to and it was a quick stop otw to Virginia Tech. They only sweeten with maple syrup which is awesome and the vibe of the store was actually awesome would probably drive the 2 hours to go here

Some coffee shops just hit different and Rangefinder Coffee in Fayetteville, West Virginia is one of them. This one hits like a Ghostface bar on the Purple Tape.
From the second we walked in, we knew. This wasn’t just some tourist pit stop near the New River Gorge. This was curated. Intentional. Like a well-sequenced mixtape. The kind of spot that doesn’t just serve caffeine, it serves culture.
The name Rangefinder itself is a nod to the analog camera heads out there. Real skill, no filters, sharp shots in a blurry world. Kinda like MF DOOM with a mic or Rakim with a pen. No gimmicks. Just greatness.
And the walls? Covered in hip-hop cassette classics like De La Soul, Raekwon, and Gang Starr. Deep cuts only. Not your Top 40, but your top five. And the soundtrack? Straight underground. Doom playing while you wait for a single-origin oat milk masterpiece. Say less.
The vibe in town is all grit and adrenaline. Whitewater, cliff faces, trails for days. But this coffee shop? It’s the calm in the chaos. The J Dilla beat under your morning.
We grabbed a cold, creamy Americano that tasted like somebody actually cared and got back on the road to Summersville Lake with a buzz that felt bigger than caffeine.
A great coffee shop doesn’t just wake you up. It reminds you who you are. Your vibe attracts your tribe. And in this case, our tribe likes good beans, great music, and spots that feel like a Raekwon interlude with mountain views.
