Happy record release to @miawilsonmusic ! It was such an honor to produce, play on & mix these truly timeless and heart-achingly beautiful songs. Mia & @skylerlusteg put complete faith and trust in me to help them bring their vision to life and I’m forever grateful. The songs asked for a grand sound and we swung for the fences and gave it everything had. Mia’s voice is one for the ages and it will shake you to your core, and her and Skyler’s songwriting will have you coming back again and again. We were fortunate to have some of our favorite people along for the ride and their contributions brought so much life to the album. I’ve been making music with @regularlittlewings for a decade now and what a way to celebrate then with being a part of this incredible record. I was lucky to play pedal steel on one of Kyle’s all-time best songs, the album closer “Goatshead Soup”. What can be said about this singular voice of songwriting we are so lucky to have around today? On tour we talk about Vaudeville often and this record skews Kyle’s most Vaudevillian and Henson-esque, full of wild and inventive wordplay, a veritable giardiniera of musicality and I’m here for it! Happy record release to @hello_marina_allen ! I’m so grateful to be a part of this record. Marina’s songs live in their own world and this record is full of longingly wonderful & mysterious autobiography. It’s truly like no other. Marina wholly entrusted me with the role of “guitar player” and I got to play nearly every guitar on this record plus some pedal and lap steel! It was a joy to work with her and @chrifcohen and @beautiphilboy and a memory I’ll cherish. Go listen! *I’ll also be joining her band for the record release show tonight at @scribble.community . Kacey’s record is here! It’s been a long time coming and was born of so many phases of our lives together. We are so proud of it and hope that it makes its way to you now or when the time is right. We had the help of so many incredible artists who took a vision and ran with it. Thank you to all of those people! We were lucky to have @tyler_karmen there every step of the way. He is a gem whose patience and artistry knows no bounds. There are songs on this record that couldn’t be singles and I hope they get the love they deserve. Like my favorite albums it works as a whole and hopefully will sneak its way into your life. It is without a doubt Kacey’s best songwriting and singing to date. We had so much fun making it and gratefully had the freedom to try every idea. I even got to play a bit of bass harmonica and that’s about all I could ask for in a record! 💙🕊️✨🎺🩵 Enjoy! “Not the Same” from @kaceyjohansing is here! This is one of my favorites from her new record. It started humbly from jamming together during deep lockdown times and then was reconfigured with samples to perform live as a duo. The recording became a hybrid of those moments in time. So lucky to have @tyler_karmen help us to bring it to life and to be elevated by these truly singular musicians.
