@zoeygotowriter pitched me this in September with the working headline “Meet the Bunnies Reclaiming their Playboy Mansion.” There were many, many steps from that until publishing, but it’s still the crux of the story: Women leaning into the things that bring them joy—and preserving the soul of a place they love in the process. Biggest thank you ever to 📸 @meghanmarin for helping us take this to the next level. And @lizziesoufleris for constantly getting👏🏼shit👏🏼done 👏🏼. And these lovely ladies for opening your homes. This is my new favorite story! Link in bio obv 🎰🃏✨
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take or whatever the boys on dating apps say. At the link in my bio, read one of my favorite ever stories of a risk (followed by a lot of really hard work) that paid off 💄💋 ps no gemini slander here
January 2026 marks TEN YEARS since I started my first real job at a magazine. Even though we’re all joking that it’s 2016 again, it feels like a new chapter, and I’m starting it off with a little passion project. On my new Substack, Impostor Syndrome, I’ll be writing about creativity, mental health, and anything else I think my younger self might have wanted to read. Please come along for the ride! ✌🏻 ✨ Link in bio / Art by @aliimcdee
As 2025 comes to a close, please join me in eulogizing something I—and many others—lost this year: working from home. I miss her and I know some of you do too! May she rest in peace! 🕊️🪦🥀
Thanks @julievadnal for letting me try to be funny on AD!
This year brought more editing and less bylines. But I feel really good about the things I did write this year, and clearer than ever on what I want to do more of in 2026. And it feels great to end on this fun piece. Link in bio for the full eulogy. Illustration: @naomiotsu
Okay tell me if this makes sense. This was my fourth trip “out west” (aka to a desert of some sort) in the past sixish years and I finally realized that you can’t plan to be someone who does XYZ, you just have to keep doing what brings you joy. And then you’ll look back and realize wow, I do this thing kind of a lot and I can’t wait to do it again. 🌵 ✨
Lately at @archdigest we’ve been leaning in to looking at how real people live life in their towns/cities/spaces. So I pitched a story about what it’s really like to live in a town that changes before your very eyes each fall. Reporting this story was SO much fun, and it is one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. I got to reconnect with my hometown of Sleepy Hollow, visit Salem, and dive into the nostalgia of Halloweentown through the people of St. Helens, Oregon. There are soooooo many more stories to be told about these towns, and I couldn’t include every interesting detail I found. But for now, check out my piece on AD.com where I talk to residents of these three Halloween wonderlands about life in a real Halloweentown. 👻🎃 link in bio
Six funny women, four funny dogs in a suite on the misty Atlantic City boardwalk. A steakhouse dinner followed by roulette, slots, and saying things like, “I WANT to love America, I really do!”
I recently had the opportunity to travel to Thailand, stay at the resort where The White Lotus season three was filmed, and write about it for AD. It was an absolute dream, truly. Thailand is as gorgeous and friendly as everyone says, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more someday.
Does anyone else have extremely existential thoughts while traveling? Not a crisis, but a reevaluation of your life and what you want to get out of it, brought on by a forced shift in perspective. I felt this big time on this trip, especially since I was in the most amazing luxury accommodations while it feels like things are (in general) terrible. Thankfully I watched A Real Pain on the plane ride home and felt validated. Read more about my trip at the link in bio. ✌🏻
