Last week @blackinteractive.nyu hosted its opening night for Future Legends at NYU’s Clive Davis Gallery, both a gallery showcasing art from current NYU students and a platform for discussion, workshops, and community engagement. I had the amazing opportunity to work with the team on curating and designing the exhibit with @stemlines @hey.janae and crafting the curatorial statement with @cosmerecowboy . The gallery is open Tues-Sat, 10am-6pm at 370 Jay St. Events every Friday during Black History Month, find out more at luma.com/futurelegends. This week is focused on dreams and the importance of imagination in envisioning a future for Black communities. Hope to see you there. Together 🚊🚎🚲 Programming, Sound Design: Ryan Webber Illustration, Story Writing: Shloka Mohanty (@shloka.mohanty ) ————- This month, Shloka and I created a participatory story where the audience can both relive and reflect on their daily commute decisions and the events that sometimes hold us captive (for better or for worse). The events in the story are based on true stories from over 20 commuters and their frequency is controlled by randomness, with several hidden routes built in. Together exists not only as a digital narrative but a communal archive of our stories and a framework for visualizing quantitative and qualitative data about NYC, transit, and the people who use it. In 2026, we’ll be releasing new routes, integrating MTA data, and releasing write-ups about the projects development. #twine #mta #transit #illustrations #visualization

👽🤖👽🤖 Xeno-crash Programming, Sound Design: @r.webber_ 3D Printing, World Building: @_cluttered.room Xeno-crash is the fusion of our backgrounds in fine art and technology to create alien forms that communicate in different frequencies. Each form represents a different alien, but they share the same audio signature of using vibrato across a select frequency range. By using radio signal strength as a measure of proximity, the aliens adjust their frequency if another creature is detected, with one special form changing its pattern completely. This project pushed us both technically and we had many failures in the circuit, 3d printing, assembly, programming with Mozzi and LoRa, radio setup… the list goes on. But pushing through, we were able to learn an incredible amount in just 2 months and will be exploring phase 2, a full space experience. Thanks again to the friends, family, and all others who stopped by, and all the feedback and support you gave us. 🙌🏾 #arduino #3dprint #alien #Mozzi #LoRa
