이번 주 5월 8일부터 아트플러그 연수 전시실 B에서 제 두번째 개인전 <The interaction of Sound: Floating in Outer Space> 소리의 상호작용: 비현실에서의 부유 가 30일 이 달 말까지 진행됩니다.

From May 8 this week, my second solo exhibition <The Interaction of Sound: Floating in Outer Space> will be held at Artplug Yeonsu Exhibition Hall B until the end of the month on the 30th.
Live sound/ projection mapping performance is scheduled on weekdays. If you have plans to visit, please check the schedule and operating hours on the website and reach out to me personally :)
*The electronics piece “Automatic Machine” (2023) is currently out of operation due to mechanical issues (Interference of noise/ the power relays problem of the analog synthesizer) and you could hear sound individually during the performance session.
DMX-controlled ARRI lighting in this piece, which was used when working in US, can also cause major issues with transformations during the setting process in Korea, so it is automatically set in the exhibition hall using a LED floodlight not tungsten lighting.
Thank you.

Hi ITPiers and Violets ! 💜
Ever felt like your dream job doesn’t even have a name yet? 🧐🫧
In this special episode, I sat down with XR designer and NYU Tisch Professor Michelle Cortese(@ellecortese ) to discuss the exciting overlap between Art and Digital Tech.
We explore why “Positioning the Overlap” is the secret survival skill for the next generation of creatives. If you’re tired of trying to fit into a traditional box, this conversation is for you.

A huge thank you to Sarah and Ahmed for leading the Podcast Fellows program and producing the Center’s flagship podcast, All in a Day’s Work. 🎙️✨
And a very special thanks to Michelle for joining us as a guest and sharing your invaluable insights despite your busy schedule. It was an absolute honor! 👾💟

Just a small update—I’m excited to be contributing a piece to an upcoming exhibition "The Public’s Domain: Transforming Iconic Works of Fiction and Sound" curated by Gianna Ricci at NYU Library.
The work is Memory Lane: A Nostalgic Walk, a single-channel video and sound piece that reinterprets the classic 1924 tune, "Memory Lane," by Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians.
It’s been an inspiring journey, especially since this sound project was selected from a proposal I submitted back in July, right before I started my master degree here.
✴ Catch the full exhibition details via the link in bio and see you tomorrow!

I’m thrilled to be participating in “Video Now,” one of the concurrent BFA Fine Arts exhibitions curated by Joseph Tekippe. I’m especially grateful for this opportunity to show the full scope of my work, a chance given to me by my longtime SVA professors (Fede, Joe, Luis) who has supported the realization of the multimedia practice since I started at SVA Fine Arts.
The piece is a 14-minute and 33-second documentation video that encapsulates the evolution of my installation work over the past two years, starting in March 2023. It’s a concise look at continuous experimentation, from initial materiality studies with resin objects and UV lighting in a darkroom environment to exploring the interplay of laser light and reflective surfaces. The video also covers the process of building complex live installations—specifically highlighting the kinetic art element created by using a servo motor-driven projector(3D scanned visual) that dynamically interacts with organic-shaped 3D-printed creatures and custom lighting. The documentation concludes with the audience-participatory installations and video creation within game engine environments.

July Recap 🐳🌼 As August came already, I’m reflecting on an incredibly inspiring week I spent at the Lincoln Center Summer Forum 2025, hosted by ITAC USA Hub and Lincoln Center Education. It was an honor to join artists and educators from around the world as we envisioned the future of arts education. We explored how to create more accessible and inclusive spaces for arts education, and I learned so much from every single person there. From practicing artistic principles to experimenting with AI filmmaking/ turning a classroom into a theater with shadow play with MIRI Opera Company, Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES), each day was a powerful reminder of how art and education can connect us all. A huge thank you to the Lincoln Center team for this unforgettable experience! :)💚🩵
Interwoven Realities: Navigating Hybrid Spaces of Perception of Time, 2025, Multimedia Installation; Digital Fabric Print on Canvas, 5-channel Video, LED Lightings, Sound, Color
-
This collaborative installation brings together digital printing, video projection, analog monitors, and sculptural structures to explore the mutable boundaries between memory, perception, and mediated reality. Rooted in the themes of fluidity and temporal distortion, the work constructs a hybrid environment where the physical and digital continuously intersect and reshape each other.
The installation is composed of cube structures printed with fragmented, pixel-based digital collages. Projected video layers ripple across their surfaces and onto the walls, creating a shifting field of motion and reflection. CRT televisions and floor-based monitors are placed throughout the space, acting both as screens and objects. They shift the direction of moving images and create pauses, dividing and displacing the flow of the environment.
Viewers move through scattered images, shifting lights, and sounds, navigating between video layers and structures that disrupt a clear sense of direction. Daily life scenes are rearranged into unfamiliar compositions, and by combining analog and digital elements, the installation doesn’t present a fixed narrative. Instead, it opens up a space where time, memory, and presence intertwine—where viewers are left to wander.

This space is a collection of the process that led to the multimedia installation. From the mylar sheets, to the 3D printed digital sculptures, and the printed elements, everything is scattered here together. The disorderly arrangement reflects the experimental attempts and developmental stages of my work.
.
Since I began multimedia installations in 2022, this space has served as a representation of the ongoing process behind my work, displaying the various stages of experimentation up to the present. It includes materials and technologies such as, CNC laser-cut digital sculptures, 3D printed components, and kinetic elements like servo motors attached to a projector. The arrangement of these elements is intentionally unrefined, illustrating the iterative nature of my creative process. The objects‘ physical properties, their relationships, and the lighting all contribute to an Unreal Engine-based digital environment that portrays outer space.
