This Diwali, I was honored to create ‘Heritage in Bloom’, a stunning mural celebrating light, community, and collective memory at Little India’s MRT, commissioned by the Singapore Indian Heritage Centre. The project holds a special place for me, as it reminds me of my time at Lasalle College of the Arts, where I first dipped my brush in public art. From being a student graded on a mural to now painting one for the city, life has indeed sketched its own symmetry. The mural is a vibrant representation of Indian heritage, weaving together temples, shophouses, garlands, and multicultural moments in a celebration of continuity, identity, and the spirit of Deepavali.
