Diolch o galon @porthiaber ! Am ddigwyddiad ddoe! Such a great launch party - it was wonderful to be working amongst a throng of so many passionate people working for change in our local food system! I had such fun reconnecting with old chums and meeting new ones over a colourful spread of veg peelings and leaves, and fruit skins, stones and rinds. Thanks so much to all who contributed a food waste-dyed 'patch' for our patchwork banner project - we have a pile of multicoloured beauties to work with... And special thanks to Ceri for taking such great pics 🌟

What a delectable Banquet of Books yesterday! Thanks so much @alt_march 4th years... it was a wonderful pleasure to act as your Maître D for the day - such a diverse and thought-provoking set of books you all brought to the table, such insightful, impassioned, tender dialogue, and such a rich quilt of text we created together from our readings! - food for thought indeed... I'll be excited to hear more about your glossaries-in-the making... And who knew we'd end at 'yoghurt' ;)

SO lovely to sneak away from my writing desk for a whole day of immersion in #localcolour with a wonderful team of staff and students from @colegceredigionartanddesign ... we peeled and picked and bundled and boiled... to make what ended up feeling like the pieces of a giant technicolor quilt! - our Autumn equinox(ish) foraging spots around Aberystwyth gave us so many rich, deep reds and purples! Am glad we made time to honour our gatherings by piecing together an improvised collective map-quilt of our foraging/scavenging experiences - I'm keen to keep developing this part of the process... Thanks so much for having me - I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next...

Cymaint o hwyl dydd Mercher yn y Mart!!! What a day at Devil's Bridge Mart this Wednesday! Undeterred by the drizzle, a throng of bidders came along to support our farmers, raise money to support Tir Dewi, celebrate the work of many local hands and hooves and seize the chance to own a beautiful hat handcrafted from the local landscape. We had demonstrations by our indomitable spinners-in-the-rain from the Ceredigion Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, wonderful performances and presentation of the hats by pupils from Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos with @kirstynconnects and Ysgol Mynach with @worldwidewelshman , and a playful spirit of competition amongst the crowd. By the end of the day, all 37 unique speckled hats were sold to a host of happy bidders, raising £2000 and counting, as donations continue to roll in! [Big gratitude to Naomi and Sara from @tircanol for invaluable accounting support!] All proceeds go to Tir Dewi, a hugely important charity which supports farmers in hardship, and it was a privilege to be in the presence of The Venerable Eileen Davies, who founded the charity in 2015. This was the culmination of a year’s skilled work, creativity and care by many, many local hands... Heartfelt thanks to all who came along, and all who have contributed to the project - it was a truly fabulous day! ...and there are rumblings of a repeat event next year... let's see!!! Fabulous photos here taken by @fforestfilms [2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10] and @timcoleridge [1,3,4]

This has been keeping my hands very busy these last few months... This auction is part of prosiect.brith [you have to manually put an @ in front of prosiect.brith to go to the insta page because I can't link to it for some reason] prosiect.brith is a community textile project transforming local Welsh Hill Speckled Face wool into a flock of unique, hyper-local hats, to raise money for farm support charity Tir Dewi. Come along to support our farmers, celebrate the work of many hands and hooves and seize the chance to own a beautiful hat handcrafted from the local landscape - The more the merrier! We'll be posting photos of the finished hats on the prosiect.brith page in the run up to the auction... so you can plan your bids ;) #defaidpenfrithbryniaucymru #gwlânpenfrith #gwlâncymreig #welshwool #slowtextiles #farmingmentalhealth #fibreshedwales #communitytextiles #alternativeeconomy #knittingcommunity

diwrnod hyfryd yn Tymawr! a really special day dyeing Tymawr wool with plants gathered on the farm, with 3 generations of the Tymawr family and friends, in collaboration with @grugmuse and @tircanol diolch yn fawr i bawb! swipe to see: 1: tymawr smallest people making a special potion 2. Delyth prepping yarn spun from her flock for the dyepot 3. Our steaming pots of gathered dyestuffs (clockwise from top): willow leaf, gorse, cow parsley, nettle + dock leaf 4. Delyth telling us about the crab apple tree that is over 100 years old - since she was a girl the sisters of this tree, on the rocky bank behind, have begun to topple - the increasing dry summer weather has caused their roots to lose their footing in the rock
