I encourage everyone to build something they love and pour into it wholeheartedly. We are entering a time where leaning on community is more important than ever and I couldnāt be prouder of the community Iāve built alongside @_vxnnie & @sasstrice . The Blacks in I/O Psychology 2nd Annual Conference & Gala was a reminder that *WE* deserve to take up space & show up as our full selves while building a future where workplaces operate on data-driven, people focused strategy (not just vibes).
Turns out building a movement is both a marathon and a sprint⦠clearly we love a challenge š @blacksinio
5 years ago, @_vxnnie & I started a @linkedin group hosting networking happy hours in DC for Black Industrial Organizational Psychologists. Fast forward, we are now a membership-based 501c3 and sold out our INAUGURAL conference in Atlanta last week.
Yāall. Planning a 2 day conference AND an awards gala was truly a labor of love š But there is no one else I could imagine being on this journey with. This organization will stand for years to come and Iām so so proud to lead next to Shavonne as we continue to break barriers in this unique field.
Idk how we keep showing up and executing flawlessly but we do. Itās definitely the Howard in us ā¤ļø
