Alvan and Winifred’s wedding is one we genuinely, genuinely enjoyed photographing, largely because of how intentional they were about what they wanted. One thing that stood out to me was how we had to adjust our editing approach. Winifred wanted the photos to feel as natural as possible. We usually lean toward a natural look anyway, but she pushed it even further, and we really appreciated that. There was something we loved about her authenticity.
We loved her choices across the board, from her outfits to her hairstyle. Everything felt deeply rooted in tradition, and it wasn’t performative. You could tell it was very much Them. They went doing it to make anyone else but themselves happy.
The entire wedding reflected who they truly are, not what social media has come to define as a “perfect” wedding. And when you look at the photos, you can feel that.
