On the left was the night it all changed.

I didn’t know I still had it in me. A timely intervention changed everything. Still have a long way to go, and I’m glad I got this far.

One of the most powerful parts of my trip to Johannesburg, was experiencing the deep cultural struggle that has epitomised the South African story.
It was humbling, following some of the most harrowing history in recent memory.
Here, I pose at the Hector Pieterson Museum which was established as a memoriam to its namesake, Hector Pieterson, a 12 year old boy, who was gunned down in cold blood, while peacefully protesting for educational reform for black South African Students in 1976.
His life, although short, serves as a memory of the crimes of Apartheid and the brave souls, young and old, who gave their very blood to see South Africa rise above.

"Never meet your heroes," they said, until I met @theanitaerskine and she is every bit as beautiful as she is kind, gifted and uplifting.
I grew up watching and admiring her poise, and mastery of the microphone on Ghanaian Television and could only hope, when I started my own journey, to be half as good, and half as amazing.
Here we are, master and student, meeting for the first time and I know, that this beautiful friendship will only grow!
I've never had a sensei in this field, but for once I kind of agree with the assertion that having and keeping role models can be a great tool to career success.
Eternally grateful for the quick tête-à-têtes during the MTN GLG 2026.
