Cry-teary-ah is the new and third album from Rotterdam-based non-binary vocal diva {Lisa}. Heavy harmony, and breathy, sweaty voices form the basis of longer tracks, which {Lisa} calls her “little monsters”. The new album is “dancy as hell”, body-political and features live drums, and special guest appearances from other artists. {Lisa}’s former two albums were both released at ReWire, and her music is described as “sensual and highly dramatic”. {Lisa} will be joined by special music guests Christine Cornwell @csc_music on the violin & Robert Nettleship @nettleshipgalaktica on the drums. Bratislava born, producer who flips melancholy into euphoria and chaos into beauty. Known as an artist whose bootlegs and edits can be found on many of your favourite DJ’s USBs, DJ tools circulating everywhere in the underground. With releases on Ashida Park, Cakeshop’s Carousel, Low Income Squad, Promesses and Mäss. He has collaborated with artists such as Miss Jay, Joao Lagrima de Ouro and has been remixed by underground legends such as Tayhana, Nick León and Why Be. We invite you to join us in this exploration through experiencing this creative meeting together. A meeting where we encounter each other, play, search, find & share the space. Come & meet us between movement & voice. With Rohiet we will explore different ways of how we can dance with each other. In close physical contact but also with space in between us. Rohiet uses different ideas/concepts from both Hip Hop and contemporary dance. He builds the work in a way that you will have tools to improvise with each other and be playful. Dorota draws the essence of her creative work from the belief that the necessary tools to create - a piece, a composition, a dream, or any form of expression - are simple and always at our disposal: your body, your voice, other bodies (be it other human beings, plants, objects, etc.), your immediate environment, your relation to all of these, and your imagination. People worry about peace. People worry about the future. Where, in this context, is the space, the time, and the funding for theater? Recent social developments and political decisions may give the impression that theater has become outdated. When we can stream anything on demand and have every convenience delivered to our living rooms, why make the effort to leave the house for a live performance? Why care about this utterly analogue and old-fashioned form of entertainment? We believe that real human encounters are vital and essential. That it is healthy and necessary to be in the moment, together. And that the theater is just like the hospital, the school and the pub, needed for a wholesome society. Join us for a vibrant evening created by a group of wonderful artists — friends and colleagues who met in Amsterdam’s improvising performance scene. How to get to Grasweg Studio? Grasweg Studio is located in Amsterdam Noord (Grasweg 41R, 1031 HW Amsterdam). Take the ferry from Centraal Station to Buiksloterweg, from there it is about 15 minutes walking / 5 minutes cycling. When you arrive on Grasweg at number 41, you will see a barrier to a private driveway into an industrial area. Walk / cycle past the barrier and continue straight until you get to building 41R. This is not a public venue but a private studio space. So you will not see any signs or much info online about it.
