DJ GÄP(@djgapdjgap ). 지난 10월 레이블 카루셀(@carouselseoul )을 통해 EP [BLOOM]을 발표한 슬로바키아 프로듀서다. 이번 EP에서 그는 슬로바키아 전통 악기 푸야라(fujara)를 전자음악과 결합해 독자적 세계를 펼친다. 흔히 이런 시도를 '실험적'이라 부르지만, 정작 그는 그 표현을 조심스레 밀어내고, 인간적인 탐구의 축적이 만든 결과일 뿐이라고 말한다. 오는 주말, 서울 케이크샵(@cakeshopseoul )에서의 첫 공연을 앞둔 DJ GÄP에게 ‘민속과 미래’라는 이번 작업의 역설, 그리고 서울과의 연결 지점을 물었다. 넷갈라(NET GALA), 예츠비(Yetsuby) 등 서울 기반 아티스트들과 함께 만든 이 파동이 어디서 비롯되었는지 짚어본다.
