HYPOGEA premieres in less than 24 hours!!! 🖤 We’re finally here, after 2.5 years of planning, developing, researching, creating!!! Our most important period began in September during a residency at Holstebro Teater, hosted by @holstebrodansekompagni . At the same time, @nannastarck was deeply immersed at @fabrikkenffkd , crafting the large fibreglass relief sculpture that forms the visual backbone of the piece. From there, we continued into the studio at @dansehallerne with the incredible dancers @antoinettehelbing , @anelopanelop , and Britu Tränkler, developing the choreographic language; with and without clay. In this phase, costume designer @laerkebarfod joined us, bringing her costume concept to life in a remarkably short time, tailoring each piece intricately to the performers. We were also fortunate to be visited by @kirkegaardjacob , who shared material from Opus Mors — recordings from a morgue, an autopsy, a cremation, and decomposition of the human body —with us, as well as professor Mikkel Krause Frantzen, who spent time with us discussing his book Slutspil/Endgame, ecological grief, and how grief might hold utopian potential. Later in the process, our long-term collaborator @moltamole joined to develop the sound and noise world of HYPOGEA, working in close dialogue with singer and vocal performer @clairezervas on fragmented lamentations. In parallel, light designer @fogsoup shaped the lighting environment in collaboration with @nanna.h.jensen . Throughout the entire creation, performance researcher @jonaschnor has been a crucial dialogue partner, sharing their research on endings, grief, and death, challenging and sharpening @psynama 's dramaturgical work. And lastly, our warmest gratitude to Dansehallerne’s producer @pedsof , whose support, care, and steady presence have held this production from start to finish. HYPOGEA opens tomorrow. We can’t wait to share it with you. 🖤 Photos from our dress rehearsal by @kirkegaardjacob

IMAGINARIUM workshop + open call We would like to invite you to take part in a workshop with Beyond Darkness on the 17th and 18th December 2025, as part of our upcoming performance IMAGINARIUM, premiering at Aaben Dans in October 2026. We are also looking for 2 professional dancers/performers for the piece and would like to use the workshop as an opportunity to meet potential collaborators. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP This is an invitation to experience the early stages of our research process. Throughout the two days, we will explore how to move through imaginary landscapes and embody more-than-human beings, as well as explore dreamstates and the subconscious. Through somatic listening, improvisation, and guided visualizations, we will tune into the body’s subtle layers and expand beyond habitual patterns of movement and perception. You are welcome to join one or both days of the workshop. It will also be an opportunity for us to meet potential performers for the piece and future productions. You are very welcome to join whether or not you wish to be considered as a performer; curiosity and openness are the only requirements. If interested in being part of IMAGINARIUM, you will need to be available in weeks 36–46 in 2026. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Dates: December 17th, 2025 – 10.00 to 15.30 December 18th, 2025 – 10.00 to 15.30 Location: Aaben Dans, Roskilde You can join one or more of the workshops, please indicate your preferred date(s) when signing up. Please note that space is limited to a maximum of 10 participants per day. SIGN UP Send an email to [email protected] by 7th November with a short introduction about yourself and your interest in the workshop. If you would like to be considered as a performer for IMAGINARIUM, please mention that in your email as well. We look forward to sharing this time in motion with you 🖤 #beyonddarkness #workshop #opencall #imaginarium #aabendans

READ & SWIPE!!! I have tried to leave. Being here has been very difficult. I do not consent to all the terms and agreements. The hidden data collection. The constant AI bombardment. The discrimination. The profiting of individuals for unstoppable greed. The political "values" behind it. And the constant shadow banning. While I have never attracted a large number of people on my posts (I do not use this platform as intended, mostly with long breaks, few posts, and resharing mainly political content) it has just gotten a lot more obvious that my "content" does not reach people. Second slide as proof. I am hoping that my cute cat's face breaks this streak of less and less activity from my own page, and my related page @beyonddarkness While I wish NOT to be here, I get a lot of information here that I cannot find in mainstream media. Mainly related to what is going on in G@ z@ (these annoying spellings that I encounter everywhere just so as to avoid shadow banning, what is wrong with this place). None of the news outlets I know even remotely cover this topic in its actuality. Biased! Always on the same side. Nothing critical. And even if, then still under the pretext of "defending themselves". I need to have access to information I find here! But I don't wish to be here! Artistically, I am here through another account. Could we do without it? Maybe... Am I trying to move away from it? Definitely. Has that been successful? Slightly. The artistic voices I meet here, indirectly but also in direct dialogue, are great, inspiring, potential collaborators, etc. and it shouldn't be that the second account suffers through my primary account's activity. The primary account shouldn't even suffer in the first place! I am very much feeling trapped and wish to find alternatives (not more of my time, money & soul should be spent here) but that is very hard when the rest of my community doesn't follow. And when journalistic resources are limited or skewed. I don't have a clear conclusion here or any answers. I am just utterly annoyed that I face so many obstacles here and that each day this space angers me, and yet somehow I feel compelled to be here, nonetheless.

BIOCOENOSIS is a walk through Hareskoven forest, accompanied by performative and sound elements. At the dried out pine forest, Eliza meets you with a pair of headphones and invites you to listen to a forest composition made of field recordings, and her reflections on her/our presence and affects onto the forest: "I lie down, my fingers sieve through the pine needles Their color faded away Like the memory of them thriving I look up, noticing the lines, running across the sky I trace the straight lines, cutting across your body Echoing with my past selves Everywhere I go, I hear my own rhythm gushing through your body. Intervals attempting to measure time. Timing my arrival. Feet, rails, wheels, wings, fumes, fuels make me traverse across the horizontal layers of your landscape." Get your tickets for the final performances via @metropoliskbh - we still have spots for Saturday & Sunday morning 🌿 Text & sound by: @moltamole Photos by: @marinegastineau Performance by: @nanna.h.jensen , @anna.stamp__ , @ceciliekjaer Dramaturgy by: @psynama Costumes by: @laerkebarfod

And with this performance we invite you to temporarily join the BIOCOENOSIS of Hareskoven. This Friday we will premiere BIOCOENOSIS 🌿 We are thrilled to be sharing this work with you. The past year and a half, we have spent ample time at Hareskoven, a forest near Copenhagen, observed its different lifecycles, watched it's ever changing landscape transform throughout the seasons, listened to its human and non-human dwellers and surroundings. Our research was also shaped by ongoing dialogues with texts by Anna Tsing, Robin Wall Kimmerer, Suzanne Simard, and Lynne Boddy, who have offered profound insight into forest intelligence, interspecies entanglement, and the politics of ecology. We have also drawn on the book Situated Listening: Attending to the Unheard; decolonial, feminist, anti-racist, and anti-capitalist collective writings in the field of sound studies, centering listening as a relational practice and a way of attuning to that which often goes unnoticed or unheard. Book your tickets via @metropoliskbh 's website! This weekend is almost sold out, but we have lots of space on the following weekend - it is a great way to combine walking, natural enthusiasm, exploring, art, and community rituals. Tomorrow we will perform EMORA at @odaysfestival as part of their artistic programme✨ We are so thrilled to have been invited this year, and are excited to share this work with you! Come by Solar Palace at 17.45 and become part of a transformative, cosmogonic landscape that explores the origins of diverse organisms: single-celled, imaginary, human, and more-than-human alike. The piece unfolds through choreography, sound, and visual textures, where movement dissolves and reshapes, like something teetering on the edge of beginning and ending, growth and decay, something both ancient and yet-to-come.
