Calling all artists, art lovers, students, and faculty from the Schnitzer School of Art History, Art + Art History + Design:
Let’s ALL get together on April 30th from 5:30-7:30 to say Goodbye to our many homes & Hello to our new HOME TOGETHER! Join us for food, music and the chance to join a collaborative art experience that will celebrate our transition to this new special place.
TOGETHER in Shattuck Annex with all AAHD folks in ONE place we will get a glimpse of our FUTURE TOGETHER!
We’ll provide the food, supplies, and good vibes, and you bring…yourself and a friend. If you’re not a maker that’s okay, too. You can still participate by bringing non-art materials (meaningful texts, ephemera, photographs) to contribute to the art making process! Or simply just join in the fun!

Come help us make a bunch of weird, beautiful, meaningful stuff that’s going to get run over by a steamroller this fall.
(We’re serious.)
We’re kicking off a collaborative art-making event to create drawings, textures, and layered materials that will become part of a giant steamroller print event in our new building. Your marks = part of the final prints.
No pressure, no experience needed. Just show up.
Not a “maker”? Perfect. Bring scraps, photos, printed things, notes, ephemera...anything you’re into, and we’ll fold it into the mix.
What’s happening:
• Drawing
• Collaging
• Experimenting
• Hanging out
• Snacks + good energy
What happens to the work:
Everything made will be transformed into large-scale carved prints and printed using a literal steamroller (more on that later )
Details:
5:30–7:30

Free + open to all (bring a friend!)
Let’s say goodbye to the old building by making something big, messy, and unforgettable together.
Last week’s Core Exhibition 2026 was a celebration of process, curiosity, and discovery! The ideation journey unfolded everywhere—on tables, across the walls, and throughout the space.
Art is never only the final piece; it is the unfolding path that leads there. Over weeks of trusting the process, giving each other feedbacks, each artist followed a thread—searching, questioning, and discovering why they make. It was inspiring to witness so many thoughtful and powerful works come into being.
Congratulations to everyone, and a heartfelt round of applause to the incredible CORE faculty team✨
See you at the next ideation journey—bring stronger coffee and plenty of Post-it notes! 😎

So fun to see everyone’s ideas come to life today! 🌱
Weeks of ideating, experimenting, noticing, and collecting grew into thoughtful and unique projects.
Through collaborative sharing and community ideating, we supported each other along the journey. So inspired by everyone’s curiosity and creativity!
Looking forward to celebrating at the Core Exhibition on this Wednesday- Congratulations! 🎉

Laura Glazer was here!
She visited our Ideation class and shared her artistic journey with us.
Ideation is all about nurturing ideas - letting them grow, evolve, sometimes letting go, and revisiting them later. She showed us exactly how that process unfolded in her own work, from the first spark of an idea to landing in a gallery inside a post office! It was fascinating to hear how her curiosity guided the evolution of her work over time.
As we prepare for our final CORE Exhibition, it was such a treat to experiment, get feedback, and learn with her. Thank you, Laura!!

Sound artist Ethan Rose visited our CoLab group the other day… he talked about some of his installation and performance projects over the years, demonstrated a cool punch-card music box and led us in some group sound making exercises.
We explored ideation as a nurturing practice 🌱 Not every idea has to “work.” Pivoting, reshaping, adding, subtracting, even letting go is part of the process.
Through SPEED ideating, we treated ideas as living things. - flexible, collaborative, and always evolving. Keep building, shifting , and growing!!! 🌿
We’re in this together. 💓

Curious minds at work! We shared our topics, collected questions from each other, and spark new ideas. Our adventure even took us out the classroom - thanks to the library books that kept our creativity flowing!
