May 21st will mark one year without Angel Garcia. One year of Angel Garcia’s family not having any answers in the case of his brutal murder by Officers Edward Lane and Matthew Galdo.
The District Attorney, Larry Krasner had ignored the family request to meet until yesterday’s press conference. It shouldn’t take the threat of bad press to take a fatal shooting by the police seriously.
We won’t accept excuses! We support the family’s demand for a criminal investigation, ballistics testing to be released, to understand WHY the encounter started in the first place and to fire and charge Officers Lane and Galdo!!

After fighting to finally see the footage, the case has stalled. The DA isn’t fighting for answers, so we have to!

Today, on Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers around the world and their commitment to humanity.
Capitalism does not allow motherhood to thrive—exorbitant medical bills, postpartum depression, high maternal mortality rates, inaccessible daycares are all but some of the crushing issues mothers face under this system. These are all issues that are preventable in a system that prioritizes people over profit. Despite the greed of the ruling class, mothers continue to be rooted in what it means to care for humanity.
Mothers deserve better! We must fight for a system where mothers, children, and families have everything they need to thrive.
Workers are fed up with lining the pockets of the billionaire class.
➡️ On May Day, the message was loud and clear that we’re going to take what we deserve and tax the top 5 corporations in Philly, 5%! If these companies paid their fair share, we would be able to invest billions into our youth, our healthcare, and our education.
May Day demonstrates that we as workers have to fight for something bigger than our individual interests and become a fighting people’s movement for dignity, autonomy, and respect.
A few thousand across all sectors in Philadelphia came together yesterday for International Workers Day (May Day). While workers struggle, corporations in Philly steal the wealth that their workers produce and we are sick of it! If the top 5 corporations were taxed 5% - we wouldn’t need to fight to survive.
During the march, @uniteherephilly ’s Local 274, with the full strength of their union and the thousands in solidarity put the Downtown Sheraton location on notice taking the march to their front door. They demand a fair contract and said “we’ll be back!”
