My first time in Tokyo and it was made extra special because it was also to realise a
@prypress project—to collaborate with
@handsawpress to reproduce and publish a drawing from a new series of work ‘Body Fertiliser’ via Riso printing. Printed in 3 colours (currently not available in Singapore), first metallic gold as an underlayer followed by red and finally teal, saw the drawing bloomed from the monochromatic darkness of bitumen and graphite shades to vibrant hues.
Actually the initial test prints were not ideal so I had to make changes on the spot. Finally with some tests and of
@ryoko_ando being in her element; changing drums, masking, tapping buttons, a new image was conceived in the blue hour, two days before
@tokyoartbookfair and subsequently presented at
@prypress booth 19-21 December
