PURSUED BY BEAR CABERNET SAUVIGNON from @kyle_maclachlan is a knock it outta the park wine in 2022! @vinepair just named it Top 30 Cabernet Sauvignons for 2026 and scored it 95 Points! It’s got the hallmarks and elegance that shows its pedigree and it also has a hedonistic richness that is perfectly balanced by snappy acidity with tons of fruit and complexity. Crazy long finish. I’d put this up against most anything from the Napa Valley and it’s certainly among Washington’s best Cab Savs! It’s available now! I got to know @sterlinharjo years ago and have been so happy to see him succeed with his vision from his early films to What the Fork shorts to Rez Dogs and now #thelowdown with @ethanhawke It was Lee Roy Chapman who introduced me to Sterlin originally and now as this all comes full circle with Ethan playing Lee Raybon inspired by my dear friend. @kala.the.wild and I have been paying homage to Lee Roy and have named several of our special single barrel picks from @willettdistillery after him. Kala even found an old song “LEEROYS DUST BOWL BLUES” and that was an earlier pick from 2024. For the last round we wanted to highlight Sterlin’s incredible work on the show with Ethan and so the special Rye bottling became “THE SENSITIVE KIND” for the original name of the Lowdown from a song by JJ CALE which features prominently in the series and then @ash.ruley suggested “THE LOWDOWN IN T-TOWN” for the 13 year old bourbon. They sold out instantly on release last fall but I held two bottles back of each, numbered 1. The first bottles in their limited run. Kala and I gave Sterlin and Ethan each a bottle their choice (Ethan chose The Sensitive Kind and Sterlin went with The Lowdown) The other two bottles we are planning on getting everyone in the cast to sign them and then at a future date use them to help raise money for a charity that Sterlin and Ethan want to help! Never in a million years did I think my friendship with Lee would result in this! Life twists and turns and you just never know. I will say that Ethan and his wife Ryan (Producer) two of the nicest most genuine people you’d ever meet! So happy to have them in Tulsa! And I have to shout out the amazing @dylan_brodie who’s just such a special person and advocate for all things Tulsa and Sterlin and makes Kala and I feel like a part of the lowdown family when we are around! And also what treat it was to meet @sjcrain who was also hanging out on set that day! We got to tell her how obsessed we are with her new song Belly! Pintxos (pronounced peen-chos) are small, gourmet snacks originating from the Basque Country in northern Spain near San Sebastián and typically served on a slice of bread and secured with a toothpick (or “spike”).
