The Book of Dreaming project is in progress! The project has its roots in the current social situation of participating countries that are coping with the integration process of Ukrainian children. It aims to strengthen the integration through art activities and focuses on activities in 4 partner countries: Poland, Latvia, Hungary and Ukraine. Working with the methodology developed by Beckie Darlington and Andy Field, children create personal maps and alternative guides to their often new cities, and write letters - to other children who are also trying to find their place in unfamiliar surroundings. In Wrocław, The Book of Dreaming is created together with four partner schools attended by children with refugee experience: Special Educational and Care Center No. 1, Primary School No. 9, School and Preschool Complex No. 25, and Primary School No. 1. - we’re happy to be working with you! 💚 Find out more about our partners in the gallery above. The Book of Dreaming is implemented in close collaboration with @theatre.lv , @proprogressione , Hnat Khotkevych Palace of Culture @khotkevychpalace and the @arttransparent Foundation, which is the project leader.

☀️As part of the Border Situations exhibition, the roundtable The Price of Social Mobility: Mobility and Coloniality opened up the question of social mobility. ☀️What does it mean to move forward in society? Who gets the chance to do so? What kinds of adaptation, compromise or loss can come with moving forward? ☀️Starting from Budapest and Hungary, the speakers discussed inequality, exclusion, work and migration. They also reflected on the aspiration to catch up with the West, and on how this connects to the lasting effects of colonial power. ☀️Social mobility is often presented as a personal success story. The roundtable asked what remains hidden behind that story: pressure, adaptation, loss, and the feeling of not fully belonging anywhere. ☀️Who gets to cross borders, and at what price? The exhibition was organized as part of the LEAP project, which is co-funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe program ///// ☀️A Határhelyzetek kiállítás kísérőprogramjaként valósult meg A felemelkedés ára: mobilitás és kolonialitás című kerekasztal-beszélgetés. ☀️Mit jelent előrébb jutni a társadalomban? Szó esett a Nyugathoz való felzárkózás vágyáról is, és arról, hogyan kapcsolódik mindez a gyarmatosítás máig ható örökségéhez ☀️A társadalmi mobilitást gyakran sikertörténetként látjuk.

🌿On 26 April, the second day of Garden Stories / Discover Budapest’s Biodiversity took us to Törökbálint, where Liza Varga, András Vigvári, and the Mandala Educational Garden guided us through the world of local allotment garden areas. 🌿The walk opened up not only a landscape of gardens, paths, and informal spaces, but also the social, housing-related, and community questions connected to them. With the guidance of Liza and András, we gained insight into how life, care, and community can emerge in these urban-edge environments. T🌿he day ended at the Mandala Educational Garden, where Orsolya Carrick introduced us to the garden, permaculture, and practical approaches to sustainable living. A shared tasting prepared from the garden’s produce offered a warm and generous closing to the day. Thank you to everyone who joined us — and to all those who helped us better understand the layered world of Törökbálint’s allotment gardens. 🌿A nap a Mandala Oktatókertben zárult, ahol Carrick Orsolya mesélt a permakultúráról, a kert működéséről és a fenntartható életmód gyakorlati lehetőségeiről. A közös kóstoló pedig különösen szép lezárása volt ennek a napnak. Köszönjük mindenkinek, aki velünk tartott ezen a sétán — és mindazoknak, akik segítettek közelebb kerülni a zártkertek sokrétegű világához. #GardenStories #ProProgressione #FreeRadicals #UrbanBiodiversity #Törökbálint AllotmentGardens MandalaEducationalGarden Permaculture Biodiversity PPGreen

🌿As part of the @freeradicals.space project, on 25 April, the first day of Garden Stories / Discover Budapest’s Biodiversity took us to Margaret Island for an urban foraging walk with Slovenian artist, educator, and forager Gaja Pegan Nahtigal. 🌿During the walk, the often-overlooked plants of the urban environment became visible in a new way. Together, we explored edible, medicinal, and otherwise remarkable species growing in the middle of the city. At the end of the walk, the plants gathered along the way became part of a shared picnic — a moment of learning, tasting, and reconnecting with the living world around us. 🌿Thank you to Gaja, to all participants, and to everyone who joined us in discovering how much life can be found within the city. ///// 🌿A #FreeRadicals projekt keretében, április 25-én a Garden Stories / Fedezd fel Budapest biodiverzitását első napján a Margitszigeten indultunk útnak Gaja Pegan Nahtigal szlovén művésszel, oktatóval és gyűjtögetővel. 🌿A városi környezet sokszor észrevétlen növényei ezen a délelőttön új jelentést kaptak: ehető, gyógyító vagy egyszerűen csak figyelemre méltó városi fajokat kerestünk, ismertünk meg és gyűjtöttünk közösen. A séta végén a résztvevőkkel együtt készítettünk ételt abból, amit a Margitsziget tavaszi növényvilága adott nekünk — piknik, közös tanulás és érzéki tapasztalás formájában. 🌿Köszönjük Gajának, a résztvevőknek és mindenkinek, aki velünk fedezte fel, mennyi élet rejtőzik a városban. #GardenStories #ProProgressione #FreeRadicals UrbanBiodiversity Budapest MargaretIsland UrbanForaging Biodiversity PPGreen

We took another big step in The Book of Dreaming project! Just over a week ago we met at workshops in Wrocław. During the “Accessibility & Inclusion” meeting, we looked at how artistic practices can support children, including those with migration, neurodiversity, and disabilities. The workshops reinforced a key understanding: art can meaningfully support processes of inclusion and integration, but only when it remains open, relational, and grounded in the lived experiences of participants. Our group also reflected on art as a relational and developmental medium - one that enables children to participate on their own terms, without pressure to adjust to predefined norms or expectations. Workhshop facilitated by Dr. Kamila Kamińska became an intensive exchange of practices and perspectives, alongside collaborative work on an artistic “toolbox” - we’re really looking forward to seeing the final result! The Book of Dreaming is implemented in close collaboration with New Theatre Institute of Latvia @theatre.lv , @proprogressione , @khotkevychpalace and the Art Transparent Foundation, which is the project leader.
