Calling all young writers! Join us this summer and do summer WRITE! ☀️ Our summer programs are designed to reach all writers—the young writer who loves to write and the young writer who struggles to get their ideas down on paper (or who says they are a bad writer). We are here to change that belief! We have programs for writers ages 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 15-18. 🔗 Grab your spot in a summer program today by registering at pwnwriters.org. We can't wait to write with you! ✍️ #summerprograms #teenwriters #youngwriters #summercamp #writingcamp @pwnteen

This Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’re highlighting a few Asian American books and writers who have inspired conversations within the Project Write Now community and who continue to shape the literary landscape in meaningful ways. From poetry and memoir to satire and novels in verse, these works remind us of the power of storytelling to illuminate both personal and collective truths. 🔗 Check out our full recommendation list at The Imprint link in our bio. This month—and every month—we’re grateful for the writers whose stories expand our understanding of what it means to be human. We hope these recommendations inspire you to discover a new voice or revisit a beloved story. And we invite you to share your favorite Asian American and Pacific Islander writers with us too! #aapi #asianamerican #pacificislander #readingrecs #bookrecs

Every week at Red Bank Middle School, we kick off our 7th and 8th grade AVID classes with a poem of the day. But the thing is—WE don’t read it! It must be read by a student volunteer. 🗣️ We love starting every class with student voices reading poetry! ➮ Spaces like this—where stories are shared, voices are heard, and healing happens—are so important, especially right now. Your support keeps our expressive writing programs thriving. 🔗 Donate today at the link in our bio. We are so grateful for your support! 🙏 @redbanksup #redbankmiddleschool #avid #teenwriters #creativewriting #writingcommunity

PWN came together last night To let their imaginations take flight It wasn’t a gimmick Just to celebrate the limerick We love when our community writes! ✍️ May 12 was National Limerick Day and Write Out Loud at @asbury_book_cooperative was up for the challenge! We let Limerick inspire the evening—reading works by Edward Lear, writing poems about things that made us laugh, and pondering abstract art to inspire us to think outside the box. Cate and Justin, in their debut instructor roles, used some unique visual aids to help explore our prompts more tangibly, celebrating both our audio and visual learners. 🔗 Join us for our next Write Out Loud in June by registering at pwnwriters.org. You can also come back to @asbury_book_cooperative on June 7 for A Pride Reading featuring many talented writers including our own program coordinator! #nationallimerickday #writeoutloud #community #writingcommunity #creativewriting

Tuesday Tip Time from writing instructor and grief therapist @the_grief_ritual … It’s Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚 Remember—you control the distance from your story. You are allowed to step back, pause, and write around an experience before writing directly into it. If your body starts telling you that it’s feeling like too much, if you feel flooded, numb, exhausted, or emotionally stuck, listen to that information. You are not just the storyteller—you are also the person responsible for caring for the storyteller! 🔗 Join us and get more great writing tips at pwnwriters.org. #TuesdayTip #creativewriting #writing #writingtip #writingcommunity

This past weekend, two of our very own PWN writers—@lizjannuzzi and @shandamdwrites —participated in @ltym_nj , an annual live storytelling event centered on motherhood, held in Maplewood, New Jersey. We were honored to cheer on Liz and Shanda as they brought vulnerability, humor, and heart to the stage alongside an incredible lineup of storytellers. Thank you to @ltym_nj for creating space for stories like these! 📸 professional photos by @joyyagidphoto #listentoyourmother #writingcommunity #creativewriting

For the fourth consecutive year, we recently celebrated National Poetry Month at @booktowne in Manasquan. ✨ Seven poets shared their original work on the mic, and we facilitated a special group writing and sharing exercise midway through. From the featured poets to the writers from the audience, an underlying theme of grief emerged throughout the evening, reminding us of the healing power of poetry. We are so grateful to all who came and shared their work with us! 🙏 @disarmingdarling @mainstreetgallerynj @blushthepoet @brainonshamrox @meredithavakian @jules8756 #nationalpoetrymonth #poetry #celebration #poets #writingcommunity
