The Red Bank Board of Education held its Annual Staff Recognition Ceremony on May 12. The many highly-credentialed staff help write the #RBBisBIA story each day.
Each year we participate in the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program. Nominees must be exceptionally skilled educators who inspire students of all backgrounds and collaborate with colleagues and families to create a strong culture of respect and success.
- Diana Archila is the 2025 Governor’s Educator of the Year for RB Middle School.
- Jennifer Rigby is the 2025 Governor’s Educator of the Year for RB Primary School.
- Joanne Fiore is the 2025 Educational Services Professional for the District.
The Board recognized teachers who achieved tenure during the 25-26 school year. We thank these educators for modeling the #RBBisBIA mindset and for believing all our children should Dream BIG. Congratulations Mary Barcellona, Catherine Conte, Danielle Cotta, Jeanette Croken, Yezebel Manaloto, Christopher Murray, Isabella Pliskin and Belinda Ruiz!
Our NJDOE Exemplary Secondary Educator is Kristen Smith, a Grade 8 ELA Teacher at RB Middle School. This program honors individuals who have made a positive impact on their students, colleagues and school community; who possess a clear vision for quality teaching and learning; and who may ultimately receive national recognition.
Last but not least, we celebrated a remarkable milestone: 25+ Years of dedication, service and unwavering commitment to our school district - Stacy Ward, Justine Coppola, Holcombe Hurd, Jamie Herman and Theresa Davidson. Thank you for your unwavering dedication and for seeing the potential in every student who walked through your doors.
Dr. Rumage, Superintendent, also recognized the Leadership Team. Each member brings a unique skill-set to the District making our team dynamic and resilient. And last but not least, Mark Taylor, President of the Red Bank Borough Education Foundation, presented a check for almost $10K to the BOE. The foundation has supported STEAM related experiences for our students for many years and is one of our true partners in education.

Today our entire district celebrated Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day! From Preschool to Primary to Middle, our students and families came out today to support this special day! Stormy the Eagle made a special visit to the Primary School and helped our Safety Patrol give out stickers to all the students that participated by walking to school today! RED BANK: NEW LIBRARY MURAL SHINES
The mural on the side of the Red Bank Public Library was installed in February. 📸 Brian Donohue
While we were all hunkered down amid the brutal cold, a new mural emerged in late winter on the side of the Red Bank Public Library featuring themes of literature, local fauna and landscapes, and the personal story of one Red Bank child’s bond with an orphaned bird.
It was designed by Red Bank Middle School art teacher (and current teacher of the year), Diana Archila, and painted by several dozen students and two alumni in recent years. It was painted at the school and installed on the wall in mid-February. Read the full story at redbankgreen.com. 🎨🖌️
