⚡️🧠 Mental Fitness Talk 🧠⚡️ 🚲✨ @psych5910 Kris — Mental Fitness Talk number 2 was R A D! I saw how much growth has taken place over the past year. They’ve developed a core group of men who are beneficial supports for one another—father figures, brothers, friends, and coaches. Watching people show up, grow together, and create real connection has been powerful. 🚲✨ @psych5910 Roni — Saturday wasn’t about perfection; it was about real conversations navigating leadership, pressure, boundaries, and the difficulty of saying “no.” We discussed the unreasonable guilt of choosing ourselves and protecting our energy to stay emotionally healthy. Bikes brought us together, but connection and support make this community special. 🚲✨ The Collective Nervous System Project Dudeman & Divas is a “biological resource.” Shared narratives increase our capacity for stress; when a group believes together, individual resilience spikes (Bandura, 2000). We loan our strength to whoever is struggling. Sit in—we got you. 🚲✨ Hold the Wheel! I’m fine! It’s ok to dream big while holding on. Suppressing fear only fuels anxiety (Hayes et al., 2012). Transformation requires moving toward values in the presence of difficult emotions. That “uncomfortable season” is where growth lives. It’s going to require some DEEEEEEEEEP breathes and if you’ve ridden with the Dudes… you know how deep 🤣 🚲✨ From “I guess I have to” to “I am and/or I get to” Destiny manifestation through high-quality connections and Positive Relationships—the “R” in PERMA (Ryan & Deci, 2017). Relatedness shifts motivation from obligation to identity. We hold the vision when you feel unable. 🚲✨ Consistency Kills Complexity Manifesting is consistent movement toward a shared objective. Through Active Constructive Listening (ACL), we ensure no one is left behind. No masks—only the presence and embrace of L I V - I N - J O Y™️ 🚲✨ #staygolddude #justtalktoadude #justrideyourbikedude #mentalfitness #leadHERship

It is the year of the fire horse, and @projectdudeman is bringing a 5-gallon 🪣 of ❤️ and a 55-gallon drum of ➕ atti-dude into every ride! We continually work toward being the gold🥇standard for how individuals should interact and utilize our amazing network of trails and roadways. Yet, we are still human 😤 and we need reminders from our fellow dudes when we are stepping... riding out of line. #staygolddude 💛 Consistency is what kills complexity. So show up, find your group, dude, and #justrideyourbikedude Tap into our ➕ atti-dude and your willingness to show up for yourself! Working with and helping others reduces our stress levels (cortisol) by triggering the release of oxytocin, building the social glue required to create an unshakeable foundation. Being a “good wheel” @beagoodwheel does more than provide a draft—it boosts dopamine because you are both giving and receiving kindness from a fellow dude! 💛 This foundation is built with Chill, Zone Dude (2) WNR (Wednesday Night Ride), and “What the Hill, Dude” rides, alongside research-backed mental fitness! Riding with this Project builds our connection and increases excitement to come back for another go. 💛 We are still enrolling new Dudes weekly so check out where to register for Project Dudeman in our bio and get a free entry into one fondo @tulsa_tough and one free entry into @osagepassage plus tons of other rad hookups! 💛 Does anyone remember why we started riding bikes to begin with? TO HAVE FUN! The more fun you have, the more fitness you gain, and therefore, more FUN is had! It’s the Project Dudeman positive atti-dude feedback loop! 💛 #postiveattidude #zonedude #firehorse

Paella Peloton con Dudeman (scroll 📸 to the end!) 🥘 🚲 The Science of Social Satiety 🥘 🚲 Olympic-level research directly from Dr. Allen Lim and Chef Biju Thomas in The Feed Zone Cookbook proves that “familia” connection is a performance multiplier. Preparing and sharing a meal isn’t just about shoving calories in; intentionally slowing down helps trigger parasympathetic nervous system activation—the vital “rest and digest” state. This communal act serves as the “social glue” that builds a deeper connection to the human who was just pulling you along for the last hour. 🥘 🚲 Whether you are a Diva, a Dude, or a guest, a plate of Chef Telly’s Valencian Paella is an investment in your collective mental fitness. 🥘 🚲 “Sharing a meal is an opportunity to pass on traditions, experiences, and values. It’s a chance for families to slow down and enjoy each other’s company in a world that is often too fast.” — The Feed Zone Cookbook 🥘 🚲 In our fast-paced lives, eating together can feel like a luxury, but it is a foundational element of Dude-Velo-Ment. As Lim and Thomas note: “The feed zone is more than just a place to get a snack; it’s a social environment where athletes can connect and share their experiences.” 🥘 🚲 The Physiological Payoff 🥘 🚲 Cortisol Reduction: Positive social interaction and laughter during a meal lower cortisol levels, which is essential for hormone regulation and long-term recovery. Think leaner and bigger dreamer, as stress isn’t limiting our overall flow! No more of the mean mugging lifestyle! 🥘 🚲 Oxytocin Release: The sense of belonging fostered by communal eating triggers the release of oxytocin, which dampens the stress response and reinforces a deep sense of safety and connection! 🥘 🚲 HPA Axis Regulation: Shared meals allow the body to down-regulate from the “fight or flight” of life, ensuring we replenish our positive atti-Dude to better handle life on and off the bike! 🥘 🚲 Reference 🥘 🚲 Lim, A., & Thomas, B. (2011). The Feed Zone Cookbook: Fast and Flavorful Food for Athletes. VeloPress. 🥘 🚲 #mentalfitness #paellapeloton #justrideyourbikedude #ifyourideyouabide

Divas Dudes & @teamsoundpony are working to build supportive environments where both BIG and little kids can engage in play without the fear of failure or judgment. Which builds our collective development and expands the boundaries of possibility! ▶️🚲‼️ Last Saturday we held our first Katy Trail Family Ride & Roll to experience the Sand Springs Herbal Affair & Festival and we had a blast getting there and back! ▶️🚲‼️ These rides are laboratories—allowing kids to be kids in an “as safe as necessary” setting rather than an “as safe as possible” petri dish that limits autonomy and spontaneity. By trading the “helicopter parent” approach for mentorship, we help them develop real-world risk management as they always had the bravery, we simply provided the laboratory to use their ingredients wisely and have F U N along the way! ▶️🚲‼️ When kids feel it is “safe to fail,” they don’t just find motivation—they find curiosity. They become eager to see what is “up the road.” ▶️🚲‼️ Science backs this. Research by Brussoni et al. (2015) confirms that expanding independent mobility and willingness to take risks has a significant positive effect on: ▶️🚲‼️ Social well-being ▶️🚲‼️ Realization of capabilities ▶️🚲‼️ Resilience & Self-confidence ▶️🚲‼️ Risk Management ▶️🚲‼️ Autonomy ▶️🚲‼️ This is what we call #mentalfitness It’s about conquering the hill and the doubt that lived there before the climb. ▶️🚲‼️ Show up! Play more! Expand your beliefs in what’s possible! We will pick you up if you fall and have snacks ready for when you need a refuel! ▶️🚲‼️ #justrideyourbikedude #fun #brave ▶️🚲‼️ Reference ▶️🚲‼️ Brussoni M, Gibbons R, Gray C, Ishikawa T, Sandseter EB, Bienenstock A, Chabot G, Fuselli P, Herrington S, Janssen I, Pickett W, Power M, Stanger N, Sampson M, Tremblay MS. Deciphering each inDudevidual’s personal 🫀🧠 😮‍💨 emotional weight they let go of or take off his (or her) back isn’t always easily seen 👀 but the impact is palpable in every accent ⛰️ or intentional 🚲 revolution‼️ 🫀🧠 😮‍💨 Every inDudevidual @projectdudeman understands the assignment: 🤔🧐 1️⃣ The accountability to not dump that 💩 on someone else. 2️⃣ The courage to not ignore what we must own. 3️⃣ How consistency conquers complexity! 4️⃣ 🍨 from @cherryandbark helps A L O T 🍨 🫀🧠 😮‍💨 That is how we embrace the actions that create motivation! These daily intentional acts… some call them discipline 😉… are different for everyone but knowing we are NOT alone helps us all remember… “We are all on this ride together!” 🫀🧠 😮‍💨 #pocoapoco #mentalfitness #consistency #whatthehilldude #inDudevidual

We are so thankful for the Divas, Dudes, and new friends who chose to show up this weekend for a trail clean up at 🦃⛰️‼️ 🗑️🚮 @turkeymountain 🦃⛰️‼️ 🗑️🚮 in partnership with @riverparks 🦃⛰️‼️ We all invested in our shared environment and repped the research-backed benefits! Our environment is a primary driver for enhancing our wellbeing (individually and collectively). 🦃⛰️‼️ When we hear the word enabler, we often think of someone or something that allows an individual to continue on a self-destructive path. Well… our enabler is the @turkeymountain wilderness: green spaces, accessibility, clean air, and freedom. Specifically, two key visual and mental elevators were decreasing and eliminating air and noise pollution 🗑️🚮🚫🎧‼️ 🦃⛰️‼️ Nejade et al. (2022) showed a 98% boost in #mentalfitness (health) when one actively engages with their environment(s). We can’t thank every individual enough for helping elevate and care for the gift that is 🦃 ⛰️‼️ #gooutside #pickupyourtrash #friendship #kindness 🦃⛰️‼️ Reference Nejade, R. We Dudes (and Princess Dude) still listen to what Mom and Dad said years go…. “GO OUTSIDE!” 🚲☀️ We are just a bunch of BIG kids playing with our friends, skidding tires, eating all the snacks we want, and witnessing the world as our playground until the sun goes down! 🚲☀️ We all are on this ride together and research shows when we “play,” we are building our Executive Function capacity to ignore distractions and embrace the moment so well that “flow” happens more often. Shutting down all the self doubt and/or criticism we have been gifted without even knowing it was our unwanted birthday present (NO ONE is allowed to regift that any longer)! Self-Advocate more often (less likely to burnout) and triage uncontrollables while investing more energy into warranted pursuits of more F U N less F U ! 🚲☀️ #justrideyourbikedude #play #gooutside #mentalfitness #friendship 🚲☀️ Reference Gray, P.
