At Project 16, we’re all about turning everyday recreation into lifelong skillsets that can be transformed into a business!
This month, our teens learned how to transform their favorite tools—social media, photography, videography, talking—into thriving businesses. Huge thanks to national social media influencer @thejasonjacksonjr , national videographer @brendonmadeit , and photography studio owner & national photographer/videographer @kauwuaneburtonstudios for sharing their journeys and inspiring the next generation of creators! By meeting our teens where they are and tapping into their creativity, we empower them to turn passion into purpose.
Our teens even got hands-on experience creating their own podcasts with @davidchrisglobal and his team @1stoppodcast showcasing their unique voices and talents. We’re building future leaders, one skill at a time!
Thank you @1800truckwreck@akwitherite for believing in our vision in providing life skills education, hands-on exposure and mental health services to our teens🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

This month for our Teen Experience Tour, we focused on 2/3 of our core pillars; life skills 𝗘𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 & 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘. Our teens toured and learned about the corporate infrastructure, opportunities and state of the art management training at Enterprise. (Some of our students have applied for positions there after the meet up 🙌🏽)
Afterwards, we headed to @just7_camp_wisdom where each student learned the essential life skills of:
•changing a tire
•checking their oil
•jump starting a car
Our kiddos are pushed past their comfort zone of observation and have to get their hands dirty and participate in all activities!!
Thank you to @just7_camp_wisdom & @king.frank_iii (and team) for your time, your wisdom and your servant leadership. Thank you for taking time on your busiest day of the week to pour into our kids!!
Thank you to @akwitherite & @1800truckwreck for your continuous support of our organization❤️

THE ART OF MUSIC PRODUCTION: Our June Meetup for the Teen Experience Tour was an absolute blast! In celebration of Black Music Month, we were thrilled to have 3x Grammy Award-winning producer @j_rhodes join us to teach our students the ART OF MUSIC PRODUCTION.
Our teens got hands-on experience with every step of the music-making process, from constructing instruments to creating beats and blending rhythms into full tracks. The activity encouraged teamwork as we divided them into boys vs. girls for a friendly competition. Each team member took on responsibilities like writing verses, overcoming fears of using the microphone, and performing in front of their peers.
In the end, the girls took home the win, demonstrating greater support for one another while some of the boys focused more on individual performance. This experience was a valuable lesson for everyone: art is not just about self-expression; it’s also a powerful way to connect with culture and practice self-care.
Studies show that engaging in art helps build self-esteem and awareness, encouraging kids to create works they’re proud to share. Fostering an appreciation for art in our future leaders also boosts logical thinking, creativity, and imagination. Plus, research indicates that art positively impacts literacy, math, and science skills.
Thank you to our amazing sponsor @witheritelaw for your continued support in making incredible activities like this possible for our youth!!
“There is no point in making money if you don’t know how to keep it and flip it” - Project 16 Founder
EDUCATION : At Project 16 we are all about financial literacy. For this teen experience we went to Vista Bank and spoke to Vice President Lubbock Smith about how we are all connected through our finances. Our teens learned that if you don’t make plans for your money then you will never hit the financial goals you plan for yourself. Thank you @vistabank and @lubbocksmith for the awesome experience.
EXPOSURE: after education experiences we like to expose our teens to something new. This time we went to Fun Box Frisco. Our teens had a blast. This experience was filled with dynamic team building and bonding moments that our teens will remember forever. Thank you @funbox for allowing us to take over your park! Lol

GOAL: teach our teens about FRANCHISING , change their perspective on working fast food and the importance of SERVANT LEADERSHIP!
We kick off every Teen Experience Tour by serving because selflessness and serving others will carry you far in life.
Mr. Tim Williams, Senior Vice President for Williams Chicken, stopped by to teach our teens about the ENDLESS possibilities in franchising and now they see fast food is more than flipping burgers & frying chicken.
If you have the right perspective, you can make millions in fast food or any type of franchise.
EXPOSURE, EDUCATION & SERVICE were the focal point of our March Teen Experience Tour meetup for @project16dfw and we had a blast doing it🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
