RIMOWA Lehni Visitor Center opens its doors for Milan Design Week. A dedicated RIMOWA Lehni Visitor Center on Via Achille Maiocchi 10 will host the pieces from April 21 to 24, alongside a curated book selection by Swiss publisher INNEN PUBLISHING and a postcard mailing station for handwritten notes from Milan. Hall, Interpretation & Evidence, a work of research by Profiler, documents the production of Hall lamp designed by @pantertourron and anodized by @bwbsurfacetechnology Hall is the first Profiler Special Project bringing together designers and the industry into a shared production. Conceptualized by @concigliery and designed by @jahnkoutrios with photography by @julien_chavaillaz and @jeremy_ayer_studio the publication makes use of moving image and photographic material produced during the lamp’s manufacture. Using custom AI tools developed by @profiler.world key elements are extracted from images and film, timecoded, and catalogued as discrete objects across the opening spreads. Six scene texts translate the catalogued material into interpretation, each governed by a distinct stage of the coloring process. Directed by @davidleonfiene Project by: @emmegu  @eezhanna.pdf @sludskiy “What influences how we sit? Is it primal? Why does it reinvent itself around the world? Can the act of sitting be transcendent, active or even empowering? In observing and analysing social and cultural differences through chairs, Sicilian designer Matteo Guarnaccia @emmegu  travelled to the most populated countries to portray each culture in his research project ‘Cross Cultural Chairs.’ In collaboration with selected local design studios, he placed each cultural context into the form of a chair. In August 2022, Matteo set out to Qazaqstan continuing his pursuit together with Zhanna Ee @eezhanna.pdf . This time, ten young designers and creatives from across the globe joined him in developing not a chair, but a different style of seating that plays an important role in the Qazaq culture: a horse saddle. The designers dove into the local traditions as well as contemporary practices and analysed the connection between horse, human and saddle.
