We lost a legend yesterday down home in New Orleans y’all. One of my VERY BEST FRIENDS @prince.pat.da.sr my family, has been called home to be with God and the ancestors. Please lift his MANY loved ones up in prayer yall from his momma @patbowman1225 to his 3 beautiful children to his siblings and all of us who called that creative confident genius brother! If you know Pat you know he was light and love and confidence and larger than life and would shine all that on everyone he encountered. Other than my momma no one in this life supported me more in leaning into the weirdo that i am than this man! He taught me how to hold myself with confidence as fat oddly dressed, oddly speaking nerd with odd taste in art and music, etc. Literally one of my heroes. I speak a lot of my victories and joy on this platform but figure it important to also speak about my pain! Your boy is hurting something awful yall, i caneem lie. My therapist and i have been working on feeling my feelings, and well it’s working because wow! I want to reiterate how precious life is, how we are NOT entitled to another moment of it. Please love on each other. Release all that hurt and pain and shame and guilt and resentment and fear and LOVE ON YOURSELF AND ONE ANOTHER. We don’t have time for anything less. If you speak, SPEAK LOVE! If you have a thought reframe it to A THOUGHT OF LOVE! if you are making and action let it be an ACT OF LOVE. We don’t have time for anything less. #ArtAsInspirationForWellness What’s good y’all? My name is Byron Young MD. I’m a community oriented child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and I be outside! I’m super excited to bring you outside with me for my new project called Art is Inspiration for Wellness. My favorites spaces are the creative ones and I’m steady on the art scene and thought it might be fun and hopefully impactful to take you along with me and tussle with questions around the intersection of mental health, social justice and art. I’m gonna take you guys on a journey through my time out in communities and my travels both domestically, abroad. We’re going to talk about how community, connection, the arts and all things creative connect synergistically with emotional health. We will explore not only how the arts are used to inspire and make us feel but also explore the emotional health aspects of the creative processes and the communities where it is formed and that it impacts. I’ll be sharing pics and videos showing creative spaces and places I’ve visited, having interviews with creators and those taking in the arts and host some events. You did this to yourselves being overly nice about my recital😂😂😂 Let me give a quick shout out to some of my earliest inspirations in the singing game @blackdiamondgldenhart who swore something was wrong with me as a child both talking and singing to myself when no one was around at a young age. @dimplez_m who was my first audience i really showed out for in the car with the falsetto. @jidejoi who was the first one to ever truly believe in me! @dr_d_415 and @prince.pat.da.sr (please pray for my homie) who have always been my competitive inspirations in the game. Been taking vocal and piano lessons @maurockmusicacademy (Ask for Danni) and got invited to be a part of their recital and i had a time. Just started a few months ago and already feeling the improvements. I was mad nervous but have an amazing instructor and was delighted by such an outpouring of love from my tribe who showed up hella deep to love on me. I got the best circle of love in the whole wide world! First step on my way to being a #NeoSoulSuperStar 😂😂😂
