Process Berlin x @heydesignerin 21–05 at @workish.berlin Featuring @hennecki Henrike Ott is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Berlin with a passion for everything related to rap and music in general. After studying communication design, she began working as a graphic designer in the fields of corporate design and corporate publishing. Since moving to Berlin in 2012, Henrike has reoriented herself as a freelance designer. She has increasingly worked on projects in the music industry. She supports artists and institutions in developing their brand identity, helps NGOs communicate their causes, and illustrates for magazines and blogs. Her clients include JUICE Magazine, Native Instruments, the Berlin Music Commission and Terre des femmes. Since 2020, she has been part of the team behind the blog series as an illustrator. At the end of 2024, Henrike published a book about underground rap music together with photographer Bart Spencer. She is a life-first practitioner. Rather than treating profit or growth as the default measure of success, she helps clients build lives and businesses rooted in integrity, sustainability and awareness. Beyond the business world, my experience is broad, including my time as an Olympic gymnast (Athens 2004), and my creative pursuits as a writer who has been published in the Guardian. She works with founders from around the world who have a soft spot for wellness and mom & baby brands. Weronika is also a mum of two, which influences both the work she’s drawn to and how she thinks about design, business, and community. Feeling the loneliness of freelance life, she started HEY, DESIGNERIN – a community for female creatives to meet in person, co–work, and have honest conversations about design, work, and everything in between. Next week we'll be welcoming Penny Blackmore to our stage as part of the Process x @heydesignerin collab! A bit from Penny: "Maybe the thing I love most about designers is that they know the true value of collaboration and community💛 So, when the wonderful gang from Process Events asked me to speak at their Berlin event, I said yes! The Process team are extra cool, because instead of only sharing the shiny success stories, they actually dig into (you guessed it!) the process, because as well all know, that’s kinda where the magic happens 🪄 And while I’m a sales and business development trainers and strategist, I’ve also been working in design-adjacent roles for my entire professional career. So I know that sometimes, designers shy away from the business side of things. Meet Orwell Host of @process__berlin Hey, I'm Orwell! Brand and strategy director working with founders in music, sports and tech (@weiter.studio ). My favourite part of my job is when a client "gets it". That ah-ha moment when they see how all this brand stuff ties together and how it's going to help their business. It's why I love Process. It's a room full of creative people having that ah-ha moment, realising they've just found a missing piece that will make their work even better! And that knowledge it given freely by expert creatives who want to help other people. It's pretty magic. As well as Process Events I run club nights in Berlin, design promotional marketing for local radio and give brand and strategy workshops to founders.
