Brb just busy bringing
@jessi_gutch vision to life alongside the incredible
@mat_carshall 🚂♥️
Big news announced in
@variety this week that Emma D’Arcy has joined our cast as Eve.
This is a coming-of-death story, and one which is deeply personal to Jessi, who was diagnosed with incurable ovarian cancer at aged 27.
“Cinema almost entirely avoids the dying process, reducing it to a final gasp or an act of bloody violence,” said Gutch. “But death is layered, messy, frightening, beautiful and often profoundly connective. This film exists because I’ve lived inside that space, and because so few stories allow us to stay there.”
Our film is also the first of its kind to be accepted onto the prestigious
@breakingthroughthelens fiscal sponsorship programme.
This project is rooted in Jessi’s lived experience and we have gathered an exquisite team: double-Oscar nominated
@shoshanamd - whose work in this space makes her nothing short of our dream collaborator.
@bafta -nominated
@shaheenbaigcasting is attached as casting director, BAFTA Breakthrough 2025 honoree
@nathalie_p as DoP,
@luciered as production designer,
@nse.asuquo as editor, and

We’re committed to running this production differently with accessibility embedded into the core of all our practices.
On a personal note, in the past few years, immediate family, close friends and those I care for deeply have been on their own journeys with cancer. My own body is adorned with beautiful scars where cell mutations were caught and removed, some large some small, as a map and reminder of my own mortality. I’ve always had a very unconventional relationship with death and dying, and I am curious as to how, through going through this process with our extraordinary team, it will evolve and deepen my exploration into embracing death, to fully give over to living life without fear.
“We have two lives, and the second begins when we realise we only have one.” This is a special one.
