Greetings Friends! As the lambs are being born, and the trees are sending out new growth, we are excited to announce a unique in person educational offering! A multi day, hands on, animal processing class in collaboration with Manna Festival. Shell and Devin will lead students through the process of lovingly harvesting, skinning, eviscerating, and preparing to cook three whole sheep. We will be collaborating with Carmen Sandoval-Aqimowon, Rivkah Khanin, Beasley Baird, and Jenya @cuyamalamb to have a wide variety of perspectives and skill-sets supporting this work. In addition to the breakdown we will spend a whole day with the fire, where we share the art and practice of Argentine style Asado, slowly cooking the sheep over coals to be served to the whole festival for Friday night Shabbat Dinner. This class is an educational add-on to Mana, and requires arriving on Wednesday evening, as well as an additional cost beyond the mana ticket. If you’re feeling the call to get closer to where your food comes from, and excited to explore the journey of taking life to feed ourselves, feel free to reach out to Devin via email: [email protected] to receive more detailed info about the class. We are opening twenty spots for this one, first come, first served. We look forward to sharing these skills with our community, and appreciate all of your support!

#2016 was THE YEAR where so many amazing people, places and opportunities came together for me. It’s the year I met and started dating my girlfriend @carrierad who turned into my wife and the mother of my children. It’s the year where my brother and I hustled our asses off and put @vagabrothers on the map. It was a year of constant movement, exploration, new friendships, a year of travel. It’s wild to look back at that year now, a decade later, where life has evolved and changed so much. I look back with fondness and gratitude to an amazing chapter in my life, where life long friendships were formed, where core memories were made and when I was young and so very free. What a beautiful time to be alive! Love to all!

We done did it again, this year marking the completion of over half a decade living a full-spectrum experience here at Rainbow Creek Ranch. So ya know, this place is named as such for several reasons: We hope to restore the land in support of returning rainbow trout to our watershed; you can find any color of stone you like in the creek, with all the chert and serpentine; and we each bring our own flavor to this space, in aspiring to be far from a monotone zone. At this year’s end, we’re feeling such gratitude for all of the people and puppies and pleasantries that come with communal living here at the ridge, and we hold so much excitement for all that’s still yet to come. Thanks for taking the ride with us. ~rb

SEEKING COMMUNITY SUPPORT ! <3 Hello friends, Devin and I are searching for our next home! We have just gotten the surprising news from our landlords that we will need to leave our beloved little yellow house in the hills come February. What we are looking for: Location - California, we are open & prefer the coastal regions. Currently we live on the Central Coast of SLO county. Timeline - February 2026 & beyond..... House/Land - a sweet home that has access to land, a beautiful kitchen that can support our culinary career, some storage, space to set up my art studio, perhaps excitement around us bringing our sheep & piggies ! cooking meals around the fire with others, friendly neighbors, tending a lil slice for gardening. Also, we have one perfect cat, Nipsy ! If you know of something, please reach out ! Share far and wide. I know that the universe is guiding this next chapter and it’s the ultimate trust exercise. We have fallen deeply in love with this last chapter and will miss it dearly <3 Thank you to everyone who has loved our home & made it yours. May we keep doing so

I love the phrase “our ancient future”. ✨ I’ve written about and elaborated on ideas that this phrase essentially sums up. I even titled a series of drawings from 2018/2019 “Our Ancient Future.” I believe the ancient wisdom of our indigenous ancestors (along with the proliferation of oxytocin) will help us through our current times and lead us down a path towards sustainable evolution and toward true innovation as a global society. When I heard Sage call what he and Connor and friends are doing in Ojai the “Ancient Futures Institute”, I immediately felt akin and understood the belief system behind what they are creating and what they are preserving. Such beauty ✨ I’m so grateful for my time this summer in OJAI with Sage @sagestoneman , Connor @ojaipermaculture , Shell @createsharerepeat and Devin @primary.steak.holder and everyone!!! ✨✨ ✨✨ All I can say is that I was reminded of how sacred life and death are and how beautiful it is to remember the wisdom of our ancestors. ✨🙏✨👼✨
