The screening of Primal Alchemy: Cooking What Nature Provides was the highlight of our year! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported not just the docuseries, but the effort. Shout out to Long Beach Co-op & Aura California knives, for showing up as our partners in sustainability. And thank you for the wonderful reception we got from the series. What a great night! Primal Alchemy is always happy to add another sustainable fish to the menu. AZERO is Ocean Raised Steelhead Salmon, no antibiotics, low carbon footprint, simply a great product. A few amazing local Chefs got together today to do a tasting 4 ways. The flavor was fantastic. Thank you to Chef Brandon @thymewellspentoc , Chef Pascal Olhats from Saddleback College Culinary Program, @paddyfishmonger and all the chefs that joined us. We plan on another tasting soon in Long Beach in case some local Chefs might be interested in putting a sustainable Steelhead on their menu. Know where your fish comes from!

The creativity of the makers of bread in this town is worthy of praise and recognition. This Sunday a Feast at Rancho Los Alamitos will showcase many talented artisans and my friend Arturo Enciso is one. He has joined us for Long Beach Urban Farm Dinners in the Fall but we are in luck he is able to create a dish to celebrate Earth Day with us on April 26th. I hope you can join us. @primalalchemy @gustobread @breadofthehearth

Shout out to our long-time bartender, Marcus Hobbs, who just received Long Beach’s Peace Maker Award! “Hobbs is a community leader, educator, and founder and executive director of Project X LB, a nonprofit dedicated to meeting people where they are and creating pathways toward healing, dignity and belonging. Project X LB began by providing free community laundry access through its Loads of Kindness initiative, supporting families experiencing financial hardship. Hobbs is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach and is getting his master’s degree in social work at Howard University, where his training is grounded in the Black perspective, emphasizing cultural wisdom, collective care and community-led solutions, said Saro, who read outloud Hobbs’ and the others’ biographies during the presentation.” -Christina Merino, Press-Telegram Link in comments~ #goteam #peacemaker #proud
