🥁 tenemos a nuestres ganadores del PGIB 2026!🎉 El 27 de julio, Pride Grows in Brooklyn celebrará a nuestres brillantes hermanes: Emilyn | Robin | Shellz | Valentina | Voltaire 💞🏳️‍⚧️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️‍⚧️💞 Honraremos sus lazos de amor a través de la ceremonia, y protegeremos a sus familias como comunidad mediante rituales ancestrales y con el compromiso legal. Llegar a la decisión no fue fácil para nadie, pero tampoco resultó difícil. Esto se debe a que todas las historias de amor que compartieron merecen el tiempo y el espacio para disfrutar y celebrar. Desearíamos poder servir a todes, pero aún nos falta crecer. Por eso les pedimos que se mantengan pendientes sobre noticias de nuestra expansión a otros distritos y ciudades; más por venir. También compartiremos más detalles sobre nuestro proceso de selección, pero por ahora, queremos solearnos bajo la luz del amor queer y disfrutar de esta buena vibra. Gracias a todes ustedes, podemos ver claramente que el gozar de la vida y el sentir alegría es parte de la revolución de hoy en día! [Une de nosotres] está acabando una maestría en trabajo social con el fin de ayudar a más miembros de nuestra comunidad... [Otre de nosotres] tiene una discapacidad y ha convertido nuestro hogar en un refugio de emergencia y espacio seguro para varias personas — les que fueron injustamente encarceladas y para jóvenes trans sin hogar, todo eso mientras manteniendo un jardín... Drumroll.. 🥁we have our 2026 PGIB winners! 🎉 On July 27, 2026, Pride Grows in Brooklyn will be celebrating our brilliant siblings:  Emilyn | Robin | Shellz | Valentina | Voltaire  💞🏳️‍⚧️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️‍⚧️💞 We will be honoring their love bonds through ceremony and affirming their families as a community through ritual and legal kinship! The choice was not an easy one for us to make, but it was also not hard. That’s because ALL the love stories shared deserve the time and space to be celebrated. We wish that we could serve all of you, but, alas, we’re not there yet. More to come on expanding to other boroughs/cities in the future though so stay tuned! We will also be sharing more about our selection process, but for now, let us bask in the light of queer love and relish this good feeling. You’ve all made it clear that the JOY REVOLUTION is here!  Here’s a glimpse of our winning applicants: “Pride Grows in Brooklyn feels like it was built for people like us. We are Brooklyn born, community rooted, and deeply committed to the belief that queer love is not just personal, it is political. We are both creatives, organizers, and hosts at heart. Our home is already a gathering place, full of friends, laughter, and good energy. [One of us] is a community herbalist, land steward, and garden educator who works in farmer housing advocacy and is preparing to enter law school. . . ✨VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY✨ Build something ~gay~ with us! 🌈 Pride Grows is adding a Volunteer Social Media Assistant to our team! 💻🥰🤳 Volunteer Requirements/Responsibilities: ❤️Knowledge of Instagram & TikTok platforms for cross-posting 🧡Edit video and photo content for Reels & TikTok 💛Assist with content calendar, and develop creative ideas for carousel posts & reels 💚Create engaging captions based on our brand voice of inclusivity & liberation 💙Engage with our online community (comments, DMs, shares) 💜Help us build our following 💗Create internal and external assets in Canva ❤️Support marketing team with admin tasks 🧡2-5 hour/week commitment May-Aug with ability to start ASAP 💛Ability to join biweekly marketing team meetings on Zoom Who we’re looking for: 💚Passion for LGBTQIA2S+ advocacy & community work 💙Self-starter and able to collaborate with a small team 💜Open to graphic design, marketing, and communications students 💗Priority will go to LGBTQIA2S+, Black, Indigenous, people of color, immigrant, disabled folx, or those who are otherwise underrepresented in and underserved by our industry- but all who are passionate and interested are encouraged to apply. ✨🏳️‍⚧️ On Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️✨we honor who we are and the love bonds that ground us and sustain us by making it known that we are here, still queer, and not going anywhere. 💕💎🤍🙌🏽 In an industry built on love, we believe it is our duty to show up in that energy and to take up more space in order to help fill the persistent gaps in service many trans, enby, and gender expansive marriers continue to experience. Right now, across the USA, trans people are under attack and, like those that came before us, we are prepared to stand up and fight back! Pride Grows in Brooklyn believes trans people and queer love must be protected, nurtured, and celebrated OUT LOUD! 📣👯 We’re here for you and your boo(s) – for chosen family and community care – for radical self-acceptance and living our lives on our own terms. We know that choosing partnership and unity, like prioritizing joy, can feel impossible or wrong given the state of the world and yet, it is exactly what we must continue to do. While we totally get that in this increasingly threatening world, the personal risk of openly representing certain identities and demographics can be high for many, it’s also true that opting out of visibility can become a liability for our collective liberation.
