The definition and understanding of the word practice keeps expanding as I go deeper into this world of movement. One thing that stands at the centre of it is that - staying present in the now is a practice of repetition.
a state of repeated beingness.
not something we arrive at once, but something we return to, again and again.
what repeats does not circle back,
it travels forward.
each return holding a new experience
cycles of arrival and disappearance
in your body and the space that holds it
reconnecting with and discovering the
vastness of the vessel we spend every waking moment in

glimpses from an afternoon of listening with our ears and seeing with our skin
We befriended the floor and walls, ceiling and sunlight, plants and people, and eventually our bodies.
Everyone who entered this space, thank you for your presence and openness.

what happens to our sense of self when there’s no mirror? no face? just the sensation of breath
when you look at your hand, can you see yourself?
The idea with this workshop is to break old patterns of how we view the self, mind and body and look at this connection with fresh eyes and a wider perspective. Feeling present in the body and space as a whole.
This space is open for all humans looking to reconnect with their body, slow down and experience a centred state of being. Whether you’ve moved before or not, every body has its own language, come find yours :)

____imagine you’re in a water colour painting, alive and moving. what happens to the lines and shapes that define you, where does your hand end and the space begin?
With water and paint as our elements of research, we’ll explore how these sensations and patterns translate into the body through guided movement.
What unfolds when you observe and embody two mediums interacting into one another, expanding beyond structure and form.
This space is open for all humans looking to reconnect with their body, slow down and experience a centred state of being. Whether you’ve moved before or not, every body has its own language, come find yours :)

The workshop is happening alongside a beautiful art exhibit by Pushpa Kumari
words, reflections, humans ( and a cat hehe) from the previous movement workshop🫧🫧🫧
The central theme of this one was repetition and how we can find novelty and meaning with each repeated movement. What seem like boring loops could actually be playful discovery with a shift in perspective.
repetition - break pattern - birth of new patterns - repeat 🌀
my favourite part is always the conversations towards the end, everyone shared such precious pieces of information whether it’s from their own practice or revelations from the workshop.
We did a grounded reflection through body maps towards the end. This was mainly to reflect on how the body felt through the workshop, what stayed and what needs to go.
only so much a carousel can tell about the experience, I guess I’ll see you in the next one :)

Some moments from the last present continuous-movement workshop
It was so refreshing to experience the same space from so many different lenses. Self recognition through the other is quite interesting. We made body maps towards the end to reflect on how we’re feeling in the body, and it was so special🪐

How to be a crooked line?
Step 1 - forget the shape of your human body
Step 2 - come for the workshop and find out
Hehe (registration link is in my bio)
This space is for us to loosen up and be mindlessly mindful together. Reconnect with every corner of your self and body, step into the new year with a slightly more centred state of being.
There’s way too much joy in moving like scribbles and crooked lines to be a clean, straight line all our lives.
This is for anyone and everyone, with an open heart and a curious mind. The body is a vessel through which we experience life, only makes sense to reconnect with it every once in a while.
