Across the record, low pulses, flickering harmonics, sustained tones, and tape-like drift gather into a wide field of sound. The music feels spacious but never still, hovering between calm and unease, with warm frequencies swelling like water rising in the dark. What begins as atmosphere becomes a meditation on pressure, shelter, and exposure: a response to nature’s force not as backdrop, but as memory, vibration, and shared experience. I’m working on a demo to send to @_john_mcentire so he can practice for our upcoming shows! Here I’m working with the @suonobuono_instruments Polyvera and the @bastlinstruments Softpop MK2. This is I guess I’ll say the opening movement of the second half of the show, if you get to the end of the clip there are some chords that I bring that in that nicely change the feel of it all that leads into the next section, I had a wonderful time playing in NYC and Philly last weekend and really excited to play this new material with John. Here with the @suonobuono_instruments Polyvera the @buchlausa 208c and the @ericasynths LXR-02 I’m playing around with the oscillators crossfading mixer and the waveform shape and FM amount on one of them on the Polyvera, an unexpected super useful function on the Polyvera is the onboard sequencer, I programmed a chord sequenced and that sequence is controlled by the Five12 Vector👍 #modularmusic #buchla208c #suonobuono_instruments #ericasynths #samprekop

Bli med inni et glødende maskinlandskap 💙 Søndag 14. juni får vi besøk av Sam Prekop og John McEntire på Østre – to skikkelser fra Chicago-miljøet som gjennom flere tiår har lekt med grensene mellom rock, elektronisk musikk, improvisasjon og studiobasert lydkunst. Musikerne er kjent fra The Sea and Cake, men også for hvert sitt omfattende kunstnerskap: Prekop gjennom sine soloutgivelser på modulærsynth, fotografi og visuell kunst, McEntire som trommeslager i Tortoise, komponist, produsent og en sentral lydarkitekt for en rekke banebrytende prosjekter i skjæringspunktet mellom post-rock, elektronikk og eksperimentell pop. Med «Sons Of» (Thrill Jokey Records, 2022) fant de frem til sitt første fullengdes samarbeid som duo. Albumet ble hyllet av Pitchfork, og står igjen som en sjelden varm, åpen og dypt musikalsk elektronisk plate. Her møtes modulærsynth, trommemaskiner, samplere og effekter i lange, organiske forløp der improvisasjon og presisjon går hånd i hånd. Resultatet er pulserende minimalisme med melodisk generøsitet – et glødende maskinlandskap, der hvert lag av lyd får tid til å vokse, forskyve seg og finne ny retning. Sons Of er musikk som puster. I picked an absolutely beautiful synth a couple of days ago, the Polyvera from @suonobuono_instruments out of Sweden, it’s a wavetable/sampler based polysynth with a great analog filter, here I’m over using the “decimate” effect making everything quite crunchy and broken, I have lots to explore before getting it into my live setup for a bunch of show starting at the end of April more news of that soon👍 #modularmusic #polyvera #suonobuono_instruments #samprekop #wavetable
