In 2019, I shelved my Muslim astronaut script because it felt too ambitious as an indie short. This week I presented it as a case study at @sxsw .
Independent and ambitious, BIPOC and ambitious, these are not opposing ideas. If you have a script in a drawer, maybe it’s more possible than you think.
@prayerinspace is set in the future, so why not imagine a future where P@lestine is free and has a space program? What would have to go RIGHT today to make that future happen? This is just one shot in the film but it’s my favorite bit of world-building thanks to Art Director @notnotmaureen 🙏
