Back at schubas on the first day of the upcoming month (March) - I’m playing with my coworkers band for their album release. It’s another cheap show on the lords days. So why won’t we all commit to attending (buy a ticket) and call it there. We’re thinking about playing a really old song, and maybe some new ones too.

Yesterday we finished tracking nine brand new songs at @ohmstead_recording for an upcoming album! It will absolutely be out in 2026. It’s an incredibly cool batch of tunes that we’re all really excited to share. These are some nonchalant photos from the session to Build Hype. We know you were waiting.
No shows on the books for the winter season (haha unless..?) but we will have some appearances when the grass gets greener. Bye!
Breadbox has been out in the world for nearly a month. I want to give my sincere thanks to anyone who lended an ear to listen, and more so to those who let me know they enjoyed it. I’m very proud of the work we put into the album. There are lots and lots that come out every Friday. You chose to listen to us! Also large shout out to the bands we played with and the venues who hosted us for our release shows. They are all kind, hospitable, and provide a good thing to the world.
Now that these songs (some of which we recorded “demos” of in 2019,) are mostly in the rear view - it’s time to get started on New True Loons. Ever since this chapter of the band began anew in late 2023, we worked hard to grow more comfortable playing together by learning older songs, reworking compositions, introducing new players, and prepping for recording 19 songs in 3 days. It was a lot of work that sometimes felt like jogging in place, but it helped us a lot in the big picture. Anyway - I’m marking today as The Start of Something New. Keep your ears to the sky! Loons might be migrating south for the winter but they will be back before you know it.

One week of Breadbox means One week of smiles and joyous music ringing in your ears. Next up on the books for the birds is a full band gig at ye olde @co1orclub - a venue never before seen by us from the stage. It will be a sort of Songwriter Showcase type of evening. What better way to spend Friday, the day of the week.

The veins in my neck are Bulging due to my current excitement. Our new album is out in seven days. It’s called Breadbox and it’s pretty slow and quiet and brooding and meditative. Pretty cool!
On the same day, we will also celebrate its release with a live concert at the hideout. We will have free bandcamp download codes taped to the back of stickers for those who come. That’s pretty cool too!
