Please welcome @jerronpaxton and @dennislichtman to the Prater Day roster! Interested in a show? Hit up [email protected] and [email protected].
Jerron Paxton plays black folk music from nearly all the idioms that entails. From the Jazz of stride piano and banjo from New Orleans to New York to the deepest of the blues played on guitar and harmonica of which he has been a noted figure since his teenage years, from the rural music that reaches the beginnings of black arrival in America played on fiddle, banjo, and bones to ragtime and other turn of the century music that gives the full breadth of black music before World War Two in a package that doesnât lecture, but invites you to enjoy that music as it was given to him. Mr. Paxton has been known to give his audiences a sense of being transported not to a time, but a state of mind and understanding that allows audiences to enjoy black folk music and have it become a part of them as has been the American experience from the beginning. Lichtman is a master of the clarinet, mandolin, and fiddle whose performance and recording credits include David Byrne, Pokey LaFarge, HBOâs Succession and The Plot Against America, Jim Kweskin, and his own solo projects.
There are some great opportunities to see the guys coming up with additional tour dates being added soon!
Thanks for the continued support of the bandâs new single, âWhere The Road Goes!â

Please welcome @sinkane to the Prater Day roster! Interested in a show? Hit up [email protected] and [email protected]!
Sinkane is a Sudanese-American musician who blends krautrock, prog rock, electronica, free jazz and funk rock with Sudanese pop. He is signed to City Slang Records.
He recently released his 8th studio album, âWe Belongâ.
Itâs pop. Itâs funk. Itâs electronic. It blends the gritty punk newness of a 70s and 80s New York with the steady, foundational soul of the rhythms of his native Sudan. It moves and travelsâthrough words and eras, through emotion and healing. Gallab calls this album his âlove letter to Black music,â and each track pulses with the energy of different eras and forms: the gospel-soaked âEverything Is Everything,â the dreamy, Quiet Storm-influenced Afro-beats of âRise Above,â the 70s-funk of âWe Belongâ and its Sly Stone influence, the Stevie Wonder-edged âAnother Dayââthey tell a story about Black music and Black people.
