One of this years El Barrio Generals is the one and only @powermalu ✊🏽‼️💯🇵🇷 Power Malu Power Malu is a pioneering artist, athlete, and activist born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, whose life has been defined by a deep commitment to justice, healing, and community empowerment. Trained from a young age in East River Park by his father, a journeyman boxer under legendary trainer Cus D’Amato, Power developed a fierce sense of discipline and resilience that would shape his future across multiple fields. Rising from the vibrant underground scene of downtown Manhattan, he made his mark in entertainment through collaborations with Artists like AB Quintanilla, and Digable Planets and as a producer and performer on MTV’s The Lyricist Lounge Show. At the same time, his athletic roots inspired the creation of the NYC Bridge Runners, a collective born on the same track where his journey began. Through international exchanges with post-war communities in the Balkans and grassroots relief efforts in Puerto Rico after Hurricane María, Power witnessed firsthand the power of movement—physical and political—to restore dignity and unity. In recent years, he has been on the frontlines in New York City advocating for the immigrant community, welcoming asylum seekers with dignity and connecting them with legal assistance, food access, and critical support services. In Puerto Rico he has established a non profit organization El Grito Boricua where he along with his partners are in the early stages of developing a reforestation project in Southeastern part of the island in Barrio Guayabota, Yabucoa. Power continues to use his voice, platform, and lived experience to mentor and inspire young activists in New York, Puerto Rico, and beyond—bridging the worlds of art, sports, mutual aid, and social change. #ElBarrioGeneral #PowerMalu #6thAnnualEBarrioParade

There are very few people in this world that you can say have a connection with you that is deeper than just in the physical form. We know this by the vibration and the aura that remains omnipresent in our cipher. You genuinely root for one another and want the best possible outcome for eachother in any and every situation. I’m grateful for the memories and moments that keep us connected and present. Last night was one of those moments filled with love and inspiration. Mi hermano @rvcomedy and I surprised our sister @labrujanyc at Bronx Music Hall where she was celebrating 30 years of La Bruja. She had the audience captivated and engaged with her interpersonal magical story telling. Our sister La Bruja is truly un regalo. Y más que creer es saber. Unnnnnbelievable!!❤️ Flick 1 @oriosdesigns Flick 2 and 4 @johnmontalvojr #Spirit #Community #Music #Poetry #Comedy

“This is a moment for joy and celebration. Over the past ten months, our visits with Dylan have left us sad and frustrated. We are thrilled that last night we finally we were able to pick him up from detention and bring him home. He is now free and back with his family in NYC where he belongs. Dylan’s life was unjustly interrupted, his young adulthood put on hold by a broken immigration system that tore him from his family. We have witnessed firsthand what an exceptional person he is. His extraordinary grit, fortitude and resilience in the face of this horrific situation are inspiring. We have worked tirelessly alongside partners across New York City for this moment. We are endlessly grateful to everyone who has kept Dylan in their hearts and wish Dylan and his family peace and love.” Power Malu & Candice Braun Co-Directors, ROCC NYC First photo taken 3/18/2026 (ROCC NYC)

The first NYC High School Student to be TRICKED, TRAPPED, and KIDNAPPED under the horrible inhumane leadership of Kristi Noem is still locked up nearly 10 months later. We cannot celebrate the so called “firing” of Kristi Noem until Dylan is free and back in the BX home with his mom and siblings. Dylan represents the exact opposite of what they try to paint immigrants out to be. Not a criminal. Not an evil person. Not a drug dealer. And not any of the other horrible things they say about immigrants. He is a sweet, respectful, hard working, educated father figure to his two younger siblings. We will continue to fight for Dylan and advocate for everyone that continues to be targeted by these inhumane tactics that have seperated families and caged human beings that are good people contributing to the fabric of our society. Things may be shifting but we cannot become complacent. FREE DYLAN! FREE THEM ALL! This report aired this week on NY1 “Inside City Hall” story by Kelly Mena.

When I discovered the power of our urban running community, I knew it was something worth protecting, nurturing, and amplifying. Running has never just been about miles, it’s about people, community, and collective care. Running is not just fitness, it’s solidarity, accountability, and responsibility. Respect to the leaders who have answered that call, even when it is unpopular, and can sometimes seem uncomfortable. I’m deeply grateful for the runners and leaders who understand that choosing people over profit rarely comes with applause, but it always matters. All those “so called” run group leaders using the term “running community” with every sentence they speak, need to stop treating runners like brand inventory. Our runners are not marketing assets. They are human beings who trust us. Community is built on integrity, not sponsorship alignment. If you want to see how systems of injustice operate, follow the money trail. Watch who speaks, who benefits, who is harmed, and who stays silent. Grateful to @queensdistance “Immigrants Run NYC 5k” for creating space and recognizing the work of @roccnyc . Thank you for the invitation to share about the work we do alongside our neighbors. Always for la gente! Always for the people! #Running #Community

Great to see more individuals stepping up and fighting back against the harsh attacks and inhumane treatment our neighbors are facing. Much respect to all the businesses that are not afraid to show support for our communities and not afraid to put up signs in their windows to show where they stand and who they are standing in solidarity with! Shout out to @confectionerynyc in my LES hood!!✊🏾🎯💯 #SayItLoudSayItClear #Community #Immigrants

Not because we want to but because we have to! Turn moments into movements and don’t allow movements to simply turn into moments. Dr Martin Luther King made the sacrifice and we owe it to our ancestors to keep up the good fight. Much love to everyone that participated in this impactful piece. Thank You to @thatcoffeyboy for bringing this to fruition and providing the connection to the team that helped make it happen. #MLK #MartinLutherKing #DrKing #Movement #GeneralStrike

They trained us to scroll To become numb and cold Connect on these apps and disconnect from your soul Second guess what you know Believe what your told Divide and conquer, Fear monger They’ll reap what they sow They teach you to hate. Show you how to feel. Can you Differentiate The fake from what’s real? It’s never too late, to awake It’ll be soon enough They stay distracting us While they disgust we discuss They don’t try to hide anymore. They’re loud and shameless They’re soulless at the core They’re vile and heinous There is one way to escape Break free from the mental prison Listen to the spirit. Your inner voice. Your intuition If your energy is depleted Call out to the ancestors You’ll never be defeated They’ll always be your protectors #SoulSearch #ProtectTheSpirit #Ancestors #Awaken #Liberation

The most powerful revolution is an inner one. A shift from the outside noise to the inner guide. From reaction to intention and from control to clarity. We must defend our inner peace and become Spirit advocates as opposed to being devil’s advocates. When we stop allowing our minds and emotions to be manipulated, we reclaim our power. True liberation isn’t given by the same structures that profit from our silence and censorship. It’s found in unlearning and peeling away the layers and stories attached to the e-motions aka energy in motion. Energy is currency so make sense/cents of the expense. What are you paying attention to? Focus on your growth, development and evolution. True happiness is being able to be present in your struggle to evolve. Don’t become a bot. Wishing you love, empathy and compassion. Siempre💯 Sapo Nu Yea! -San Concho✌🏽
