A 3,200-mile run across America for disability awareness... they race alongside adaptive nonprofit @ainsleys_angels of America to support inclusivity in endurance sports. ❤️ @asicsrunning

A long over due shout out to Lisa and Dave ( @adsmjs and @therealdavespin ) for all of their love and support as we took on the @bostonmarathon last week! I met Dave and Lisa when they reached out wanting to donate their daughter Amy’s running chair to @ainsleys_angels after her recent passing. They wanted her chair to go somewhere it would continue to roll with the wind. And we were honored to add her incredible chair to our fleet in Upstate NY! Amy was part of an incredible duo with @fit4athletes that rolled in the 2024 Boston Marathon (which was also our first!) Last year the duo was featured on banners throughout Boston! When I met Lisa and Dave to pick up the chair, they offered to host our family on marathon weekend. We took them up on the offer and it made for an incredible experience for all of us. Their accessible home could accommodate all of our family needs better than our own home! And their hospitality welcoming us and touring us around was second to none! Before the trip to Boston, we traded out our aero bars on Shamus’ chair with the ones from Amy’s chair so that Amy would be right over Shay’s head like a halo and would give me support to lean on whenever I needed it! We were honored to have her rolling with us from start to finish! Dave delivered Shamus and I to the start on race morning and then he and Lisa cheered for us with Nichole at several locations along the course. Thanks to them, it was Nichole’s favorite marathon spectating experience ever (and she has been to PLENTY!). They truly welcomed us as family, and we are forever grateful! It was reportedly the closest finish in @bostonmarathon duo history and was an epic battle from start to finish! We had such a great time racing the streets from Hopkinton to Boston and though we came up just a little short, Both of our teams broke the previous duo course record. We were honored to be greeted at the finish by @hoytruss as he congratulated us all! Shamus quickly pointed out that the team that beat us are Canadian, so we are unofficially the Boston Marathon American duo course record holders (Ha!). Seriously though, it was the most fun we have had racing! Thank you to all the fans who propelled us 26.2 today! Boston is best when it comes to marathon history and marathon fans! A special thank you to @choleyevans for being there EVERY step of the way and to @asics and @ainsleys_angels for all the love and support along the way!
