The @todayshow ’s Al Roker recently joined Clea Newman at @doublehranch , the SeriousFun camp in NY, to see what SeriousFun is all about. Check out the heartwarming piece to hear stories from longtime camper-turned-counselor, Sam, plus mother-daughter duo Erika and Avery who’ve navigated pediatric cancer for years. SeriousFun camps are so much more than fun and games—they’re where kids facing serious illness and their families can find the joy, healing, and connection they need.

Happy National Nurses Day! Camp wouldn’t be possible without the care, compassion, and expertise of our nurses. They’re the reason campers can jump into all the fun—whether it’s swimming, climbing the ropes course, or campfire nights—knowing they’re supported every step of the way. From daily medications to dance parties and talent show cheers, our nurses help make camp both safe and full of joy. Today, we celebrate the heart they bring to camp—and how they make it possible for every camper to feel confident, cared for, and free to just be a kid. Thank you for all that you do!

Two chances to support the Double H Ranch. Two ways to support play! Join us Saturday, April 25 for the Double H Pickleball Tournament at Picklers Pickleball Club—or cheer on the Capital Cup for Kids, where the Ranch is proud to be one of the selected charity partners in this exciting hockey tournament at the Albany County Rink. Or even better – support both! Each event will feature auctions and raffles – something for everyone. Play, cheer, give—and help us continue providing life-changing experiences, always free of charge.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us last week for our third annual Breaking Bubbles at Universal Preservation Hall, to celebrate women in our community. Our keynote speaker, Abigail Cuffey, Executive Editor of Women’s Health, delivered inspiring reflections on redefining self-care, and camper-turned-counselor and archery instructor, Sam Stackpole offered a heartfelt and moving perspective on the Ranch’s lasting impact on her life. Thank you to MC Liz Bishop and Double H CEO, Alison Wilcox for their contributions as well. A large part of the evening’s success was due the generosity of countless sponsors, including lead sponsors: Fenimore Asset Management, the Robert & Lisa Moser Family Foundation, Women at Prime, and Women @ Work. As well as our other amazing sponsors, Albany Med Healthy System, CDPHP, JMZ Architects and Planners, Kasselman Electric, KeyBank, Betty Little, M&T Bank, The Rutnik Family, Sandy Sherman, Saratoga Slice Girls, UHY, and Zappia & Fryer General Dentistry. Special thanks to our friends at DeCrescente Distributing Company for providing the bubbly beverages! 📷 credit: Joe Putrock, Times Union
